I love chocolate. Chocolate makes the world go round. When I discovered Hotel Chocolat a few years ago and signed up to their monthly gift box of treats it was the best money I'd ever spent on behalf of my stomach. However, did you know Hotel Chocolat also offer beauty products that use cocoa’s natural properties to provide a rich and luxurious experience? Cocoa is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and offers nourishing, softening and hydrating benefits to the skin, making it the perfect ingredient - I wrote about the numerous benefits cocoa can bring previously, even covering myself head to toe in the process. Although the beauty products from Hotel Chocolat don't actually smell of chocolate (much to my disappointment,) they're still well worth a look if you're not quite ready for a cocoa detox this January.
The award-winning Cocoa Juvenate beauty range has now new scent 'Repose' to add to its repertoire. Developed and perfected on Saint Lucia, Cocoa Juvenate Repose offers a scent based in roasted cocoa: "Featuring heady florals, sandalwood and leather, Repose represents that unique time for stillness; when the air is thick with the aroma of harvested beans drying in the last of the evening sunshine and the estate is slowly settling into a comfortable position for resting, reflecting and regenerating. Inspired by the serene beauty and sun-dappled calm of the Hotel Chocolat cocoa groves on the island of Saint Lucia, Repose represents the mellow, sensual moment of quiet at the end of the day." Available in a candle, shower cream, body lotion, body oil, body creme and perfume, the scent is deep and comforting - perfect for this time of year when we're all feeling a little out of sorts.
As a massive candle lover the has already been added to the top of my fireplace and lit on a dreary Sunday evening. The brown glass holder ensures this feels like it's a quality product, without the branding preventing it from matching or clashing against home decor. (It may sound silly, but when you're spending £30.00 on a candle, you want it to complement your home!) Although the outer packaging it a little disappointing and got a little damaged on its way to me, the product inside makes it all better. The shower cream is extremely rich and wakes you up in the morning, lathering well to ensure you can make this last as long as possible by using only a small amount on a loofah. These feel like great quality in your hands, which is often half the battle, but they don't actually break the bank. The candle is £30.00, the shower cream £15.00 and the bath oil only £25.00 - far cheaper than similar alternatives.
If you're still looking to spend that Christmas money or just need a little pick-me-up to get you through the next few rubbish January weeks, then it's well worth having a look it Hotel Chocolat.
