Apparently today is Blue Monday as we all come to the realisation that the festive period is over and 'real life' starts again. We're back to work, back to the commute, back to battling the elements on a daily basis and back to knackering our bodies out. To get you through the next few weeks why not grab some products that will help perk up both your body and mind? Lush have a great selection of body products that are infused with scents to reinvigorate and motivate - these three are just the tip of the iceberg, but they could really help beat the January Blues.
Unless you spent December in a little chocolate and alcohol free bubble, there's a chance your complexion is looking a little worse for wear. Using a face mask such as The Sacred Truth will help to revive the skin, thanks to ingredients including wheatgrass, green tea and papaya. The mud-like mask will not only help to draw out impurities and leave skin feeling seriously smooth, but wheatgrass acts as an anti-oxidant which helps protect against ageing radicals in the air. It works best when kept in the fridge, as the ingredients will stay fresher for longer as well as the cold giving your skin a great kick up the bum. The Sacred Truth is suitable for all skin types and doesn't have a particualrly strong scent or offensive texture, so it's definitely one to keep close at hand this month.
Once you've had some pampering 'me time' and applied a great face mask, it's important to remember to hydrate the skin and use a great moisturiser. Lush's 'Gorgeous' face moisturiser was apparently formualted with 'no expense spared' - the light and loose emulsion contains six different plant oils, fresh citrus juice, orange blossom honey water, neroli essential oil and myrrh. The result is a very light and runny cream that's bursting with goodness, absorbs into the skin quickly and has an uplifting scent. If you pop this in the fridge with your face mask too, it will even work to awaken and revive the skin when you overslept. This is considerably more expensive than your usual Lush moisturiser, so use it sparingly - it'll set you back £39.50 for a tub!
Finally, a great shower gel can go a long way. I'm a huge fan of Lush shower gels (including my favourites Snow Fairy and the twinkling Twilight,) and Rose Jam is perfect for keeping the winter blues at bay. It contains rose and lemon to lift the spirits and awaken the senses; rose has long been used to comfort and bring positivity, so what better way to start the day than with a Rose Jam shower? If you love Turkish Delight then you'll love this, as there's just a hint of the sugary goodness in the scent that will leave you feeling all warm and tingly inside.
Will you be taking some time out and investing in some Lush products this January?
