Ever since I can remember, the first official sign that Christmas is on its way isn't the turning on of Oxford Street's lights or the debut of The X Factor's charity single, but the jingling greatness of a tune that sends shivers down my spine. Holidays are comin', holidays are comin', holidays are comin'! There's something so iconic and fuzzy feeling about the Coca-Cola truck, its glittering lights and cheeky Santa having a sip of something brown and fizzy - so it's no wonder that OPI are capitalising on this great piece of branding for their very own Christmas collection. You can nab your very own polar bear and festive topcoat, or invest in four shades that would work perfectly for the party season... All of which can be enjoyed with a cold glass of Coke.
I love the idea of picking up a limited edition Coca-Cola inspired topcoat and my very own cuddly bear. The polish contains flecks of white and red, as well as little white heart shapes which add a touch of festive cheer to any colour undercoat. You do have to work it a little to ensure you get a decent variation in flecks and that the little hearts come out to play, but it's nice to see something non-glittery for Christmas. You can also nab a trio of polishes which are inspired by the colours of Coke, including a striking and classic red that would go with any outfit this festive season. The silver polish is incredibly strong and provides a fab colour in only one coat, rather than an understated metallic that needs four layers to make an impact. I'm not sure why a deep purple has been included, but when applied it does look almost black and could possibly be my new fave Autumn shade... Maybe OPI know something we don't!
OPI don't always push the boundaries with their never-ending collections and collaborations, but I think they've hit the nail on the head with their Coca-Cola shades. I can see the mini polar bear and partnering topcoat being an absolute best-seller, especially as it's affordable at £11.95. Not only would it make a great stocking filler, secret santa gift or something special under the tree, but it's a great little treat for oneself to get us all in the Christmas spirit.
