I think nearly every one of us has some long-standing association with The Body Shop's 'Musk' scent - whether it was the first perfume you discovered, the fragrance that reminds you of your mother, or even the overwhelming scent that filled the girl's changing room at school. There have been a few reincarnations since its launch in 1981, but this Autumn a complete game changer is hitting the shelves. The new 'Red Musk' fragrance provides a very different approach and is something completely new for The Body Shop; it contains no flowers or floral scents, only a smouldering blend of spiced musk with hot notes of cinnamon, pepper and tobacco.
I love how this new fragrance will appeal to a completely different audience and provide a real modern twist on a classic scent. It's incredibly rich, masculine and full of spice - so much so that it wouldn't seem out of place on a guy; considering the trend for boyfriend jeans, blazers and oversized accessories isn't going anywhere, this is just a continuation. The scent is quite addictive and long-lasting, providing a sexy undertone that's subtle and striking all in one... I'm just amazed that this kind of fragrance has come from The Body Shop! The bottle is beautiful too, providing a simple visualisation of the scent and the notes included; the ombre tones and slightly vintage colouring would look beautiful on a dressing table and definitely ignite your inner 1920's vixen.
