As a busy blogger, vlogger, social media consultant and goodness knows what else, I don't often get an elongated moment to myself or a couple of hours for some 'me' time. Taking stock every couple of months and having an afternoon to relax is so important - no matter how much you think you'll be ok. I was lucky enough to get a chance to do this last week while being introduced to the cutest and most unique beauty salon in London's Notting Hill. Privet has only been open for a couple of months, but it's quite a sensation and popular already amongst the local celebs. The decor is incredible, having been modeled on an old-school gardening cabin; everything is kitted out like you should be off to plant some pansies, rather than get a manicure. I filmed this little video below to give you a quick tour and show off some of the fab features that had me instantly falling in love.

During my afternoon at Privet I experienced the most painful but amazing massage of my life. At some points I actually stopped breathing, so much was the pain being inflicted on my poor little muscles. The therapist actually climed on top of me, starting the massage by manipulating my feet and legs with her own before moving on to my back - and having a good shot at cracking every square centimetre she could. During the hour treatment every single muscle in my body was worked, every element of tension relieved and every limb pummled until I pretty much couldn't take anymore. Although it sounds like a nightmare, the feeling afterwards made it all worth it... We do forget that massages are designed to target specific problem areas, rather than being a soft and relaxing hour where we can drift off and dream of Ryan Gosling.
I also had a quick mani and pedi, which I was incredibly pleased to find out they do simultaneously to save on time. Great if you're a busy lady and can only afford an hour out of your day but don't want to scrimp on looking and feeling great. They also offer all manner of facials, waxing treatments and pampering sessions to take advantage of, all at reasonable prices within a fabulously unique environment. The beauty therapists are some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of seeing me half naked, while the whole ambiance makes you feel incredibly comfortable and at home. If you're a Londoner and want to take a little time out in the coming weeks, I'd thoroughly recommend paying a visit to Privet. (The bonus is that David Beckham apparently drops his kids off to school across the road too, so you may even get a celebrity spot in!)
