Having a great hair colour can provide the ultimate confidence boost. Knowing a tone is perfectly suited to your complexion helps to lift our emotions and put a spring in our step, having an impact on even the way we dress. I love having red hair as it gives me the confidence I need to face the day; having a great colour that covers my greys and catches the light makes me feel like a teenager again! L'Oréal Professionnel's INOA Carmilane red collection provides an intense long-lasting result, that's locked into the hair using powerful magnetic bonds. Their unique technology anchors colour into the hair fibre, helping to reduce fade significantly and leave you with a fabulous look for longer. You can read the technical info on the products and science in my previous post, but here's the lowdown on what happened when I had a hair makeover with L'Oréal Professionnel INOA and turned my dull colour into a vibrant red shade.

The first step in my hair makeover was a consultation with my colourist Amy. We discussed what I wanted to achieve, how I wore and styled my hair, as well as how daring I was prepared to be. After conversations and much hair fiddling, we mutually decided on a vibrant shade of red with a small panel of colour under my sweeping fringe; the objective was to create a contrast when I pinned or pulled my hair back for added impact. We also decided to be even more daring and go well and truly for the chop, cutting off a good three inches of hair to create a stylish choppy bob. After a simple allergy alert test to ensure I wasn't allergic to the dye (dabbed behind my ear and left for 48hrs,) I was on my way and counting down the days until my next appointment.
Hershesons is such an airy and vibrant salon, making you feel comfortable as soon as you step into the salon. Their staff make an otherwise terrifying experience pretty relaxing and enjoyable, allowing us to take a few hours out from a hectic schedule to get pampered. The dying experience was pretty straightforward, the two colours being mixed and applied in sections, and took only about thirty minutes to complete. After the dye was left for another thirty minutes, the colour was washed away and my hair was ready to be re-styled. A few cutting motions later and I was left with a super vibrant colour, a slick style and a definite boost in confidence.
The L'Oréal Professionnel INOA Carmilane colour result is the most vibrant I've ever experienced, my hair being a 'jewel' shade of red that's incomparable to any at-home alternatives. My hair looks super strong and healthy, catching the light to create ultimate shine. Upon leaving the salon I was over the moon with the result, feeling like a million bucks and receiving many a compliment from friends and followers on Instagram. Even after washing and restyling, my hair still looked amazing and provides an incredible vibrant colour. Unlike other hair colourants, which often leave my towels a frustrating shade of pink for a week, there's been no transference or colour run of any kind. My hair feels extremely soft, without the strong ammonia smell that can often hang around for a week after colouring at home.
I’ve also been using the L'Oréal Professionnel INOA Color Care shampoo, conditioner and masque which help to keep your colour looking vibrant for longer. As well as helping to leave hair feeling soft and looking shiny, it nourishes the hair fiber to protect and maintain the color radiance and intensity. They’re extremely pleasant to use, the shampoo lathering well to leave hair feeling clean leaving it feeling stripped, while the conditioner and masque help to replenish hair and leave it soft to the touch. I had my hair coloured nearly three weeks ago and it still looks like I’ve just stepped out of the salon; the red is still incredibly vibrant, providing a strong colour that catches the light and looks extremely healthy. Although some of the exceptional brightness around my hair line has faded, this is definitely a good thing as it helps the colour to blend and look a lot more natural.
If you want to channel the red look, opting for a vibrant and deep shade that catches the light (rather than an orange shade that will look brassy, unhealthy and wash out your complexion,) then L'Oréal Professionnel INOA Carmilane is definitely something to ask your hairdresser about. Everyone has dipped their toes into the redhead pool (including Cheryl Cole, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Evan Rachel Wood and Rihanna,) so get ahead of the game and join me in showing everyone that it's the redheads that have more fun. What do you think of my red hair look? Would you consider dying your hair a shade of red?
