Top Fragrance Picks For Spring

We change up our makeup from one season to the next, replacing heavy foundation with something a little lighter and adding in a few pastels, so our fragrance repertoire should follow suit too. I have an expansive range of scents that change depending upon the occasion and my mood, but there are certain perfumes that only come out to play when the weather is a little brighter. For me, there's something not quite right about wearing a really heavy, musty fragrance while I'm rocking a white shirt dress - I prefer to keep it lighter, introducing a more refreshing and fruity scent. This spring I've been turning to five perfumes more than any others, wearing them daily to put a skip in my step; for your reading pleasure, here they are...

1. Marc Jacobs: Daisy Delight Eau So Fresh
I was a big fan of the original, so had high hopes for the range extensions. Although it doesn't really smell anything like the Daisy scent I know and love, it is extremely delicate and refreshing - perfect for the daytime. It contains containing notes of blood orange, pink pepper, white tea, violet, raspberry, apricot and amber, which creates a slightly warm and unusual scent. It's definitely one you can keep applying throughout the day and not feel like you're covered in flowers. (All the details of the launch are in this post.)

2. Calvin Klein: Endless Euphoria
The original version of Euphoria was delicious, but exceptionally powerful. It was a scent I loved, but definitely kept it for the evenings when a strong perfume would blend into a smokey background. However, the new lighter version is perfect for Spring and brings a touch of modernity to the classic scent. It's described as "an intoxicating breeze of cherry blossoms, tipped with refreshing mandarin and bergamot. The heart blooms with beguiling floral notes of violet, pastel rose and syringa. At the base, bamboo, sandalwood, and bare musk exude a dream-like seduction." (Catch the full review here.)

3. Jo Malone: Wild Bluebell
Bluebells remind me of woodland walks as a child, so I was overwhelmed with nostalgia when I first took a breath of Jo Malone's unusual scent. The delicate sweetness of dewy bluebells is combined with lily of the valley and eglantine to create a refreshing and uplifting perfume. Although a bottle of this is extremely expensive, it's definitely a classic that can be worn throughout spring and autumn - as well as being layered with berry scents to make it more winter appropriate.

4. DKNY: Be Delicious
One of the first perfumes I ever bought, I have a serious passion for this apple scent. It's a classic for a reason, providing a refreshing nod to a freshly bitten apple - perfect for wearing every day. It's light enough to be topped up throughout the day, but strong enough to stick around and still provide a hint of fruity goodness. It's a great scent for every woman, no matter their preference or age. (Read about my love affair with this fragrance here.)

5. Chloe: See
The heavisest of my top five picks, this contains a great combination of fresh top notes and muskier base accords. It contains bergamot, apple blossom, jasmine and ylang-ylang, as well as a base of soft vanilla and sandalwood. The bottle is to die for, while the scent is great for taking you from desk to dance floor with ease. It's definitely one for fragrance enthusiasts that like something a little different; this is one that will have friends and colleagues asking "what's that you're wearing?"

So those are my current favourite scents to take me into the warmer months, but what are yours? Do you change your scent from season to season? Image may be NSFW.
