I've always been a huge fan of fragrances, using my perfume as an extention of my outfit and accessories. My current scent wardrobe is full to the brim with over fifty perfumes, each being used to fit certain moods and occasions. I've long believed that a great scent can enhance your mood and lift you up like nothing else, so it's great to see new brand on the block Valeur Absolue channel that idea with the launch of this trio of fragrances. Valeur Absolue have invented a completely new concept which they've called 'More Than Perfume.' The Valeur Absolue fragrances are not just scents, but well-being elixirs for the mind and body; enriched with natural ingredients and minerals, each perfume is one which will make us feel good as well as smell good.
The debut fragrance collection includes three distinctive scents that can be worn by any woman with any taste. Harmonie was developed around the idea of a moment for yourself, 'like wrapping a cashmere shawl around you.' Joie-Eclat was inspired by a constantly refreshed glass of champagne that's 'always sparkling and fizzy.' Sensualite is based around the expression of seduction, so it's 'super bright with a luminous sensuality.' These simple fragrances are designed simply to make you smile and provide a moment of pleasure, unlike other scents which focus on selling an idea of the kind of woman you are when you wear it.
The formulas also contain extremely high quality essential oils, extract of the Immortelle flower (known for its power to release endorphins - the 'happy' hormone,) and visible minerals deposited at the base of each bottle that are linked with the perfume's specific emotion. Harmonie contains amethyst, Joie-Eclat contains encapsulated diamond powder and Sensualite contains mother-of-pearl. I've never known a fragrance house develop something so unique and innovative, nor have I heard of any fragrance being based on a single idea rather than a list of confusing ingredients. It's quite an unexpected approach not to describe the notes that make up a scent, focusing instead on the emotion the fragrance represents. I love the idea of these perfumes and can definitely say they're both uplifting and a pleasure to wear.
