Tory Burch may make cracking shoes, but now she's transcending into new categories with the launch of her debut makeup collection and fragrance line. The first eau de parfum from Tory Burch is self-named and housed in the brand's signature colour; the orange box and bottle top feature the iconic 'double T' design in gold, ensuring this is a bottle to be treasured by fans of the existing clothing and footwear brand. Tory's debut fragrance is a modern, classic and unexpected scent that 'captures the casual ease and polished optimism that defines Tory’s aesthetic.' “When we decided to create a fragrance, we spent a lot of time thinking about what it should be - a balance of femininity and tomboy, citrus and floral, grounded and graceful,” says Tory.
The inclusion of vetiver and sandalwood provides an earthy depth to ground the fragrance, while the addition of citrus fruits (including grapefruit and mandarin,) bergamot and cassis bring an uplifting and refreshing quality. It's a complex fragrance that changes as you smell it, making it extremely wearable and able to transcend seasons as well as generations.
Although it shouldn't, the bottle makes a huge difference when choosing a fragrance as you want to display the perfume with pride on your dressing table. Tory Burch doesn't disappoint, with the elegant and simple clear bottle with a subtle pink colour taking centre stage, while the intricate and elaborate lid complement the design in a subtle manner. This is one of the nicest bottles I've seen in some time and makes the perfect addition to a Tory Burch fan's collection of accessories.
I really like this scent; it's wearable and doesn't feature the sweet candy notes or old-lady florals that just don't suit me. I love something deep and musky, but with a citrus top note to help lift my mood and brighten my step. Tory Burch's debut fragrance delivers on both, making an on-trend scent that makes me excited to see the inevitable perfumes to come.
Tory Burch Eau de Parfum launches exclusively in Harrods on 20th January 2013.
