Before hair serum there was nothing but hideous frizzy and flyaway hair to contend with. My first bottle of Frizz Ease revolutionised not only my hair routine, but my whole approach to beauty. Knowing a little bit of oil in my hair could work wonders, opened my eyes to the possibility of other lotions and potions really helping to resolve beauty issues. Although there are hundreds of serums and hair oils available, these three are the ones I continually return to and can rely on to really help me tame my tresses.
1. MoroccanOil Treatment (£13.25)
This is quite a marmite product, with hair enthusiasts either loving or hating it. The heavy texture and open top make this initially hard to get right, but once you work out exactly how much you need to perfect your 'do there's no looking back. The treatment provides weight to hair while smoothing any frizziness that can come with curly or unruly hair. You can also use it as a finishing or polishing oil, taking a small amount and warming between your hands before touching up your style. A sound investment for your hair.
2. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum (£17.25)
I've been through bottles and bottles of this in my life, because it's simply one of the best serums I've ever used. It's super light and doesn't weigh hair down even when you accidentally use too much, as well as providing slight heat protection for when you forget to add in a protector spray. What's even better is that it actually helps speed up drying time, as the formula helps to push out water from the cuticle - it's a pretty awesome 'all in one' and a product every woman needs in her repertoire.
3. Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum (£6.29)
A classic budget buy, Frizz Ease was the one that started it all. Although the original formula is quite heavy and easy to overload, the 'extra strong' version is great on serious curls or for protecting hair when it's drizzling. This is a great introduction to hair serums as it's basically a 'one size fits all' product, plus the price point provides a great reason to keep repurchasing.
