Lush skincare: I'm obsessed! Since beginning using Lush skincare products around a year ago, I've learned that natural skincare is the way forward for me. I can always rely on this trio to help tame my teenage, blemish-prone skin and I in a way enjoy doing so. ‘Skincare? A chore?’ No longer is that the case. Let’s start with the Mask of Magnaminty; my gosh this stuff is truly minty, yet there's nothing artificial about the smell or texture, which I find refreshing. There's definitely a sense of upgrade when thinking about the quality of face mask you can buy in 99p sachets on the high street. Don’t get me wrong, they're perfect for girly sleepovers, but this face mask means business. Invigorating and textured, Magnaminty feels cool and clay-like at first, and then dries on the skin within five minutes or so. I wouldn’t recommend leaving this on too long if you try it though: not only do you have to thoroughly scrub it off using a bit of elbow grease, your flannel and sink will temporarily turn seafoam green. Upon washing this off, my face feels significantly smoother and my forehead (where a vast majority of my blemishes locate themselves) feels cooler and cleansed. The pot contains 125g of face mask, which would last around eight uses, depending on how thickly it's applied.
This is my third bottle of Lush Toner Water, and the second of the Tea Tree Water variation. Originally my first purchase was of the Eau Roma Water and as much as I liked it, I felt it didn’t do all that much help towards helping restore my sometimes blemish-infested forehead. So upon finishing a bottle of Eau Roma, I popped into store picked up a 100g bottle of the Tea Tree Water. (Now, I must add that the 100g bottles are just plain fabulous. Small, portable, travel-appropriate and they last around 5 months. No word of a lie: £3.95 to last five months, when used twice a day. Now that is a financial win.) I just love this stuff; it's so cool, refreshing and invigorating and works well just before applying a light layer of moisturiser. I think that it works quite well as a blemish preventative treatment too, as it contains tea tree - probably the most well-known anti-acne ingredient. I personally like the smell, and the pump distributes a suitable amount of liquid to really get to work properly, without drowning your applicator.
Lastly, the Grease Lightning spot treatment. The most recent buy of the trio, I don’t want to say too much about this as it is still quite new – but on early impressions I am pleased. It comes in a small bottle at 45g, but the tiniest bit is distributed with every pump and two small pumps can completely cover a bad skin day. After four uses of this, an absolute monster of a spot has diminished drastically and the smile on my face has consequently widened. Cheesy, yes, but it just shows the power of a good skincare routine. Are you a fan of Lush products?
