I love candles almost as much as I love Hollyoaks. I currently have nine in my house, in various rooms and ornamental positions, which are ceremoniously lit as soon as the sun goes down. Candles can really enhance the ambiance of a room, as well as changing the aroma to something mood enhancing and uplifting. Jewel Candle are a company that take candle burning to the next level, by including a precious jewel in every product worth between £10 and £250... That means you get to burn the candle and reveal your special prize, whilst making your room smell beautifully uplifting or relaxing. Available in various scents (including Pina Colada, Lemongrass, Hawaiian Coconut, Watermelon Wedge and Happy Birthday,) the candles also come in two sizes - the larger one contains a ring, while the smaller contains a pair of precious earrings.

The scent of the candle is quite subtle, not infusing your room with a sickly or overpowering scent, while the longevity can reach up to 15 hours of burn time. The quality of the pack is comparable to well known brands such as Yankee Candle (as well as their fragrances being 'inspired' by them,) although the drawings on the front may put some people off displaying them in their natural state. However, the stickers can be removed to leave a plain glass candle behind, which won't class with any interior decor! Although I was dubious as to the quality of the jewellery inside, I have to admit that the little jewels are really quite lovely and have gone straight into my jewellery box. They come packed in a heat protective layer of foil and plastic, ensuring there's no damage done during burning. Not only do these make a fabulous gift, but if you're a candle or jewellery fan, they make a lovely pay day indulgence for yourself - especially if you get a jewel worth over the value of the candle you paid for! If only every candle had a secret surprise... I may give up Kinder Eggs.
