Concoction is the brain child of Alex Epstein, a previous contestant on The Apprentice and an all-round great guy who really believes in this brilliant new brand. Concoction literally allows you to call the shots, providing you with your very own bespoke shampoo that's created in front of your very eyes.

With four base fragrances to choose from (including Black Pepper and Citrus, Lemon and Verbena, Rosemary and Mint, as well as Bakhour,) you simply add two intensive treatment shots of your choice. There's everything from brunette, blonde and red colour intense shots to help your hair sparkle, as well as smoothing treatments, added volume and even extra moisture if your hair is super thirsty. I've known about this brand for over a year, having met Alex and being able to try the products when Concoction was still in its infancy, and I have to admit that this is such a simple idea that I'm amazed hasn't been thought of until now. With our hair never being simply one 'type' or needing one solution alone, Concoction allows you to target two concerns that are unique to you at any one time. With millions of combinations to choose from, this shampoo is £14.00 well spent. For added treatment you can also pick up their 'one size fits all' conditioner, which can be used to target differnet concerns by the length of time it's left on hair - for a lighter result simply leave on for two minutes; for a more intense, smoothing finish leave on for up to ten.

The shampoos lather extremely well and leave hair looking and feeling great, really helping to target your concerns and provide the perfect product for your needs; the focus is so often on the conditioner, so it's great to see shampoo getting its moment in the spotlight once more. Concoction is currently exclusively available in London's Selfridges store, where for the next two weeks you can pop down and meet their (rather hot) Mixologists; they'll create you a bespoke shampoo which you can take away to try at home. This is definitely a brand to watch, not only because of its uniqueness and value within a saturated marketplace, but because its fun products really do the job you need them to.
