In recent years Santorini has become one of the hottest and most Instagram-able destinations in Europe; its beautiful white and blue landscape has become a bucket-list destination for so many of us who'd love to peer out into the ocean and dream about having enough cash in the bank to stay there all year round. It's become as famous for its clifftop pools as it has its wine, thanks to every celebrity and mega-influencer worth their weight flying in to enjoy the views - so you'd be forgiven for thinking this island is a luxury haven. But the truth is, that's only a snapshot of what Santorini has to offer and it's really not the blue and wise paradise so many of us assume.
