Four Fab Affordable Skincare Gems To Check Out From The Body Shop This Spring

Whether you choose to or not, you really don't need to spend a fortune to get a great skincare regime. Unless you have specific concerns, love to pamper your skin and ensure it gets the best, or simply have the money to invest in products that have the highest concentrations, you can do just as well from the high street. One of the most underrated brands within the skincare category is undoubtedly The Body Shop, who have a growing portfolio of fab buys that are targeted at either the first signs of ageing or the latter stages of skin's natural degradation. Considering they were bought by L'Oreal and had the advantage of their incredible skin labs at their disposal (although they were sold to Natura back in the summer of 2017,) you'd be a fool to overlook the potential of their rather swanky looking yet relatively affordable range that's both a pleasure to use and really quite effective too. In the next few months they're really upping their skincare game and have a number of key launches I'd definitely recommend checking out; here's the lowdown.

Drops Of Youth Bouncy Eye Mask (£18.00)
Capitalising on the huge success of the Bouncy Sleeping Mask, this refreshing and cooling gel not only helps to soothe away tired eyes, but helps to nourish skin too. Infused with Edelweiss from the Italian Alps as well as Criste Marine and Sea Holly from the Brittany Coast, these ingredients help to protect and enhance the appearance of skin. The formula is also enriched with calming cucumber extract to instantly refresh without any stickiness or residue, leaving tired eyes feeling definitely a touch perkier. Although this doesn't help to target those signs of ageing, it's great for those mornings when you feel knackered and need a little helping hand! I love the feeling it leaves on skin and how quickly it absorbs, letting me instantly get on with my day.

Drops Of Youth Gentle Face Wash (£9.50)
Although I love a cleansing balm or cream of an evening, for my morning shower it's all about a gentle face wash to cleanse away the residue from my night cream. Many foaming washes can be quite stripping and leave skin dry, but this is incredibly gentle and helps to remove any overnight grime without leaving my face feeling tight. It's enriched with the same ingredients as the Bouncy Eye Mask to refresh and awaken skin, leaving a perfect canvas for the rest of your skincare regime. A great daily skincare buy that will last an age (thanks to the generous bottle size!)

Roots Of Strength Firming Shaping Cream (£28.00)
Influenced by ancient traditional Chinese medicine (which for centuries has advocated plant roots to look after skin and boost immunity,) the new 'Roots Of Strength' range is infused with three powerful plant roots to help restore skin’s strength and shape: ginger, ginseng and ruscus root. It's incredibly rich and applies beautifully to skin, leaving the surface feeling supple and hydrated without any greasiness or residue; you don't have to wait an age before applying makeup either, which is a bonus. A great daily cream you can rely on when you need something a little more targeted.

Roots Of Strength Firming Shaping Serum (£32.00)
Designed to work in parallel with the Shaping Cream, this lightweight serum features the same potent ingredients of ginger, ginseng and ruscus root to help bring firmness and strength to skin as you see those first and latter signs of ageing. A little pump is all you need to gently massage into skin, leaving the surface feeling silky smooth and full of life. Although I haven't seen any real results with this over the last couple of weeks, half of the battle with skincare is finding a product you like using and that you can rely on to keep your skin feeling great... This definitely ticks those boxes.

There's so much exciting stuff coming from The Body Shop this year, but this is just a teaser of what to expect. Their skincare is so underrated and often overlooked, but there are some real gems to be discovered if you can spare the time to explore... And I implore you, do!
