It’s that time of year again where we’re all thinking of our summer holidays. Long days on the beach and splashing around in the sea often create not only happy memories, but also what I like to think of as the perfect summer hair. But what happens when you come home? Bumble and Bumble’s iconic surf spray has been around since 2001; designed to give an effortless ‘been at the beach all day’ look to hair, it’s become a cult product among hair stylists. Containing a mix of sea salt, minerals and marine extracts, Surf Spray adds volume and creates soft, tousled styles with minimal fuss. It can also be used as a styling product, sprayed at the roots to create volume and providing extra hold to up dos.

I recently tested this theory out with the help of a Bumble and Bumble stylist, who managed to turn my floppy fine mop into the most amazing beehive using only the Surf Spray, a backcombing brush and 10 hair grips! As well as Surf Spray, Bumble have recently added two new additions to their ‘surf’ collection. The Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner both contain Sea Fennel and Kelp to help soften and add texture to hair, bringing out its natural waves. They can be used alone or together with the Surf Spray for an easy, beachy look at home. All three products form part of a new travel kit, launching exclusively into Boots this week - the kit contains 60ml travel sizes of each of the shampoo and conditioner, as well as a 50ml Surf Spray. These make the perfect size to take away on holiday, or just if you want to try out the range before committing to the larger sizes. I'm sold already!
