LBQ's Top Three: Concealers

I've been obsessed with concealers since I was in my teens, fighting angst and spots simultaneously. Throughout my student days I would scoff at spending more than a fiver on a lipgloss, but the sky was the limit when it came to concealers - if you can effectively cover up the evidence that shows you've not been sleeping, eating or drinking in the way your mother would like, then hook me up and call me Judy. So often in beauty you pay for the pretty packaging or celebrity endorsement, but when it comes to concealers you really do get what you pay for. I've tried possibly 50% of the concealers that exist on this planet and these definitely come out on top.

top three concealers

1. Bare Minerals: Stroke of Light (£22.00)
Heavy nights, early mornings and everything in-between can be concealed with a touch of this eye brightener. Thicker than the classic Touche Eclat, it really brings radiance to dull under-eye skin while helping to reflect the light. It's not too creamy, so it doesn't sit in pores and imperfections, and the precision applicator ensures you get it where you need without any wastage.

2. Clinique: Even Better Concealer (£18.00)
This little glass pot contains my best kept secret... Until now. The thickness of the formula allows even the most horrendous of blemishes to be concealed without a problem, lasting all day and not budging even in the heat. This is perfect around the eye area and is my must-have to be armed against that monthly gift from Mother Nature. I would now never be without a pot of this close to hand - especially as it lasts for months on end.

3. Bobbi Brown: Creamy Concealer (£18.00)
This is super handy for on-the-go, containing a little mirror for quick checks or touch-ups. The formula is relatively thick, without being too heavy or caking in the skin. It brightens the under-eye area, as well as working well with a powder finish - it's perfect for warmer days or when your skin has a natural glow and just needs a quick fix. I've repurchased this so many times I've lost count.
