Ten Things To Do With Your Burt’s Bees Balm This Christmas (Apart From Putting It On Your Lips!)

SPONSORED FEATURE
Wind, cold temperatures and air conditioning all have a drying effect on skin by drawing moisture away from the body; lips are particularly vulnerable because the skin is so thin, meaning many of us suffer with dry lips during the colder months. Many lip balms are enriched with irritating ingredients or components that actually exacerbate the situation (including excessive scents, preservatives or colouring,) leaving our lips in an even more worse condition than before. However, Burt's Bees classic formulas are made of 100% natural ingredients and nourishing beeswax that's harvested to seal in moisture and add a touch of lubrication. Available in a multitude of flavours and offering a huge array of benefits, these little wonder tubes are well deserving recipients of my 'best lip balm ever' accolade - so much so that there's always at least one (if not two or three) in my bag or coat pocket. There's no doubt they're a Winter essential, but what about other ways you can inject a little Burt's Bees balm into your festive season? I've got my thinking cap on just for you to list out ten alternative things you can do with your tube of nourishing balm this Christmas to inject a little Bee-utiful goodness into your day. You're welcome.

POP IT IN A CRACKER
What would you rather find inside your cracker on Christmas Day: a thimble, mini packet of screwdrivers or a Burt's Bees lip balm? If you've already got your crackers picked out, gently undo one end without popping the snapper in the middle and swap the little rubbish gifts for a balm instead. If you've yet to pick up your crackers, then you can order or find empty ones for a fraction of the cost that allow you to add your own treats.

ADD IT TO YOUR TREE
If you're a serious balm addict, why not wrap a little festive yarn around your favourite flavours and add them to your tree? Not only to their little yellow tubes make statement decorations, but you'll always have a lip balm handy when your lips are feeling dry!

GUESS THE FLAVOUR
With so many flavours to choose from (including Ginger Spice, Cherry, Vanilla Bean, Coconut & Pear, Blueberry & Dark Chocolate, Mango Butter, Honey, Acai Berry and many more) it's just too tempting to not turn these balms into a little game. Blindfold your guests at the next festive dinner party, asking them to sniff and identify each balm in turn; the winner gets the entire collection to take home!

GARNISH YOUR TABLE
A little tube of balm will be far more welcome on a place setting than yet another chocolate treat. Wrap each Burt's Bees tube in a little rustic yarn, add a sprig of greenery or bell and secure to a napkin using a touch of ribbon. A beautiful table treat for the eyes and the lips.

DECORATE YOUR GIFTS
Continuing that theme, why not add a little tube of lip balm to your special gifts? Using a small amount of yarn or ribbon, attach your chosen balm to your gift alongside a gift tag and festive garnish (bells, twigs, tinsel and candy canes work brilliantly) and make your presents even more tempting to rip open.

SPIN THE BALM
You've heard of spin the bottle, but what about spin the balm? Use your tube to pick out someone during truth or dare, or if you're more into family-friendly party games just pick the next person to have a go at Pictionary.

BURT'S INSPIRED CANAPES
Thanks to the creativity of the Burt's Bees team there are SO many flavours to get your juices flowing. Why not use their flavour combinations as inspiration for canapes or festive treats - including a Blueberry & Dark Chocolate tart, Ginger Spice biscuits, Coconut & Pear bowls or Vanilla Bean macarons? Just serve alongside the balm that inspired it all!

DONATE TO THE BEES
All out of gift inspiration this Christmas? Why not donate to the British Beekeeping Association on your loved ones behalf and give them a little tube of Burt's Bees balm as a token to explain the gesture. It's a gift that will surprise, delight and make a difference all year long.

STOCKING SURPRISES
Turn over a healthy new leaf this holiday season and swap the usual chocolates and sweets found at the bottom of every stocking for a little tube of hydrating and soothing balm instead. Suitable for the whole family, it's an affordable way to show you care while not helping to overdose on sugar.

POP IT IN YOUR POCKETS
Are your lips always feeling a bit parched, but you're never within easy reach of a lip balm? Overcome that problem by stocking up on all your favourite flavours and popping them in every coat pocket you own. That way you'll always have one to hand - and the flavour will be a little surprise too!
