You may look at these and think 'what the hell?' but the truth is that these will undoubtedly be the next big thing in home fragrance. A home's scent has the power to provide comfort and security, evoke a feeling of happiness or simply uplift your mood after a long and stressful day; stepping into a room that's filled with the subtle scents of the season is one of my favourite things about my home. Although reed diffusers and candles may be practical, they can look cluttered and tatty; wax residue on my fireplace is the bane of my life, while a haggered looking diffuser tends to go straight in the bin rather than sit on my windowsill looking tired. Rituals are one of my favourite brands when it comes to scent, creating mood enhancing products for both body and mind that are also incredibly affordable; this winter they've launched an innovation in the home fragrance category that I've never seen before, but absolutely adore. These cute tassels hide a beaded centre piece that can be saturated with a beautiful fragranced oil, helping to fill your room with perfume in a subtle and elegant way. What's even better, is these little red numbers double up as Christmas decorations too!
Each box of these festively red and cold decorations contain five individual tassels and a little pot of Oriental Magic perfume oil; the scent is infused with the rich and spicy ingredients Myrrh and Cardamom Milk, providing a perfectly festive fragrance that will complement a freshly cut pine tree perfectly. You just add a few drops into the centre and let the fragrance fill the room over an hour or two; adding a couple of drops every day helps to keep the scent fresh - just make sure you don't get it in the tassels themselves. These are totally reuseable and a really wise investment; unlike a candle or reed diffuser which you have to throw away once you've used the scent, you can keep dropping in oils into the tassels and re-using them as many times as you like. If red isn't your thing, there are a variety of other tassels that are much larger and suited to spring, summer and autumn months too. (I've got my eye on this beautiful silver one that would be perfect for spring!) Why has nobody thought of such a simple execution before, that's both beautiful and practical? I'm sure we'll see these popping up all over the place in 2016... But you saw them here first!
