Grey hair is inevitable for us all. It may be a strand or two in your twenties, full-on roots in your thirties or the need for a complete overhaul in your forties, but we'll all reach a point where we want to overcome those tell-tale signs of the years passing us by. I've got no issue with a few little lines around my eyes, or even an expanding waist-line, but I'm just not prepared to put up with silver worms sprouting from my scalp. With the busy lives we lead (and the ever increasing prices of that regular appointment,) it's harder than ever to find the time to justify a visit to your hairdresser; however, there are lots of simple, quick and affordable ways you can conceal those greys without picking up a whole box of hair colourant. Here are three of my faves.

1. Kazumi Root Vanish (£30.00)
Available in five different shades (including light brown, dark brown, black, blonde and copper) this handy little touch-up product has become a firm favourite of mine. When I sit down to style my hair and notice a few strands of grey popping out, I can literally 'colour them in' with this liquid formula. The brush makes it super easy and fast, while the texture of the liquid ensures coverage without overloading the hair; all you need to do is dry the product in using your hairdryer and you're good to go. Not only is the result a complete eradication of any grey hairs, but the formula hydrates and nourishes (thanks to the inclusion of 22 botanicals including Japanese Seaweed, Ginseng Root and Yuzu extracts,) while leaving no residue or crustiness. Although it specifies it will last until your next shampoo, I often find it lasts up to a week before I need to re-apply.
2. Colour Wow Root Touch-Up (£28.50)
One of the original concepts that makes touching-up on-the-go super simple, this powder formula can be used on fully dry and styled hair to conceal any grey areas. Think of it like applying eyeshadow to your roots, blending the colour in to create a really natural finish that doesn't flake or budge; the double-ended brush allows precision and discretion, while the innovative pigments adhere to hair without being sticky, oily or dulling. This formula is even water-resistant, meaning it's not going to wash out if it rains or you jump in the pool - it even lasts between shampoos, although I would definitely recommend a touch-up every time you wash your hair. (I find on my dark hair it tends to fade with each wash.)
3. Maria Nila Colour Refresh (£16.99)
Although this hasn't been designed specifically to cover greys, it's a great product to boost the overall look of your hair and help those pesky greys blend in much more subtly. The treatment nourishing masque contains colour pigments to freshen and boost hair when it becomes dull, lifting the tone and helping to reflect the light. (Grey hair is such because it can't reflect the light, which becomes a lot more obvious when surrounded by rich chocolate pigments!) Not only is Maria Nila free from sulphates and parabens, as well as being made from 100% vegan ingredients, but it's super quick to use - just pop it all over your hair for ten minutes before your step into the shower. Et voila!
