Traditionally speaking, perfume has always been associated with a moment of pure indulgence and escapism; it's a way of conveying who we want to be via the most powerful sense the human race has at its disposal. However, never one to conform or do things in the manner we've become accustomed to, Jeremy Scott has created a new season Moschino masterpiece that will no doubt fly off the shelves when it launches this week - regardless of the fact that it's dividing the nation. He's known for his quirky alternative style and pushing the boundaries, having dressed his catwalk models in everything from Barbie outfits and McDonald's logos, to retro cartoon characters; what better way to continue that legacy than by reinvigorating the humble bleach bottle? (Because what's more glamourous than a spritz of your favourite bleach?) Moschino Fresh Couture is the ultimate reinvention.

The fragrance contains notes of mandarin, bergamot, raspberry, white patchouli and osmanthus with a touch of clear wood that provides a more modern and unexpected base. The result is incredibly fresh, incredibly wearable and possibly my new scent of the Autumn; there's nothing offensive, overwhelming or unexpected within the bottle, even if the casing is somewhat unusual. I love the brand's description of this innovative concept, that just sums up what the brand is all about: "The concept for this fragrance was to juxtapose the most mundane and commonplace… With something so precious - the juice of a luxury brand’s fragrance. Taking the iconography of a bottle that has no aspirational value and using it as the inspiration for a vessel to contain something so luxurious… What could be more Moschino than that?"
I just love how they're willing to play about with concepts and shake things up in a way that's completely unimaginable. I've been a big fan of Jeremy's direction since he took over the role of Creative Director in 2013, and I just can't wait to see what's up his sleeve next. I would have 100% bought this myself if it hadn't landed on my desk before I had the chance; beauty is about having fun and pushing the boundaries, and what better way to do that than by spraying yourself with a touch of Fresh?
