It's easy to push aside the reliable, functional products within your beauty repertoire and focus on the shiny glamorous ones instead - but where would we be without a spritz of deodorant, swipe of nail polish remover or smidge of hand cream? Hairspray for me has never been that exciting; as long as it does the job without making my hair feel like cardboard, then we're good to go. It's not something I turn to on a daily basis, but it does keep my perfectly coiffed hair in place on a Saturday night when I just want to focus on the cocktails and dancing. However, this new trio from Tresemme have totally changed all that for me, offering a really effective styling companion that makes my morning routine so much more satisfying. That's why they're my very first 'product of the week' - a new feature I'll be introducing to highlight the beauty bits you really need within your collection, cutting through the noise and highlighting the products that make a difference.
The lightweight texture provided by each of the three formulas helps to coat hair without making it sticky or causing it to dry harder than Peter Andre's abs circa 1996. To get the best results you apply section by section upon dry hair, prior to styling with your heated appliances - this helps to set your style in place and ensure it lasts all day long without compromise. I'm absolutely in love with the Make Waves formula, which helps create the most stunning 'just walked out of the hairdresser' curls and waves with even a hair straightener; usually my GHDs provide a slightly messy wave, but with a little spritz of this I can go to drab to fab with very little effort required. The photo below is me with 'day two' hair that was looking a right state before lots of little spritzes of Make Waves; the result was lots of volume, much more definition to my curls, serious longevity and lots of lovely comments from friends and colleagues. Hashtag winning.
I'm not sure on the technology or how this works, but all you need to know is these are genius. The Get Sleek formula is great when applied to second day hair, just to help create a sleek and smooth finish without dipping your head under the water again; thanks to the workable hold, it doesn't leave you without any movement which gives the game away instantly. Max The Volume is fabulous at lifting roots (even when they're slightly greasy) for a backcombed look without the backcombing, providing lots of oomph when applied to the ends and blasted with a hairdryer. If you struggle with styling, or simply have hair that never does what it's told, then these are well worth a weekend purchase. I'm amazed at how much difference they make to my styling process, so it's no surprise they're my product of the week.
