The YSL Glossy Stains were one of my favourite products of last year, offering my lips a coating of subtle colour and comfortable result that lasts. Each little tube contains a formula that helps to stain the lips upon application, ensuring colour lasts though even drinking your morning latte. Topping up is a pleasure, rather than a chore, making these a great spring-time alternative to lipgloss - which we all know has a tendency to get stuck to our hair during the windy April weeks. This May YSL are adding to this soon-to-become-iconic range with the launch of a Long-Wear Push-Up Effect Glossy Stain that helps lips to look even more kissable.

If you're not a fan of colour, then this is a great alternative while still helping lips to look plump and full of life. The light and non-sticky texture provides lips with a shiny finish and delicate menthol plumping effect, without stinging or irritating sensitive lips. You only need a small amount to ensure a fab finish, which dries to leave a slightly tacky sensation that's a fraction of a traditional gloss. Although the original Glossy Stains leave a matte texture on the surface, this is a different result - almost like a gloss-balm hybrid. The same precise applicator is still present, as is the case we know and love (albeit in a statement silver pot!)
Although this isn't a particularly thrifty purchase at £26.00 for essentially a menthol glossy balm, it is delicious to use and perfectly comfortable on lips - even when re-applied throughout the day. I've only had it a couple of days and I'm already a big fan; it's so much more inviting than pulling out a tatty old lipbalm from your bag over lunch, which is a selling point for me in itself! I'd love for YSL to add to this sub-collection with a couple of other tinted tones, so here's hoping this does well enough to justify it!
Do you love the YSL Glossy Stains too? Will you be popping into store to check this out?
