A brand known more for their controversial names than actual products, this year saw the launch of Rodial's debut makeup line. It was greeted with rapturous applause, but the price points made many of us wince. This Instaglam Compact Deluxe Illuminating Powder may be beautiful, but it will set you back an eye-wateringly expensive £52.00. I've been putting some of the collection to the test and I have to admit that this is my current favourite product, offering so many multi-tasking benefits alongside a super natural glow that's easy to buff into skin. The universal champagne tone adds a candlelit glow to the complexion, while the super lightweight and velvety smooth texture enable it to blend perfectly; there are highlighters and then there are highlighters - this is definitely something a little bit special. (Even if the price makes me cry.)

Although it's obvious you're paying over the odds for a delicious compact case (it's heavy and feels like something of real quality to be treasured,) the product held within is great too. I've been using it just across the tops of my cheeks and down the bridge of my nose, as well as buffing it into my eyelids as a radiant base that works brilliantly with a subtle slick of liner. Highlighters may seem unnecessary and an extra step in your already complex routine, but they can really help to lift the complexion and inject some light into skin - even when you're feeling shattered and haven't quite caught up on beauty sleep. The Instaglam Glow Complexion Enhancer (pictured - it's a pen that provides a bronzing liquid) is a little too golden and shimmery for my liking, but this is quite an understated powder and shade that would work with practically any skin tone. At £52.00 it's not an impulse purchase, but if you're feeling flush around payday then why not treat yourself?
