Three Great Eyeliner Pens For Perfecting Cat Flicks

Perfecting a retro cat flick is the challenge of many, but most of the problem can be solved with the aid of a great tool. With so many liners available, it's hard to know where to turn and on which brand you can rely - but after trying oodles of different products there are currently three fab felt-tip liners that I'm turning to in order to create the perfect vintage-inspired flicks. Ranging from a bargainous £6.00 to a more indulgent £18.75, between them they'll have your vintage eye looks perfected while leaving enough time to grab a morning coffee.

1. Urban Decay 'Ink For Eyes' (£15.50)
What I love about this liner pen is the super precise tip that makes creating delicate flicks a doddle. If you're a little scared or intimidated with the prospect of drawing thick black lines on your upper lids, then this eases you in delicately. You can really build the result and create even the most tiny of flicks without smudging, although you do have to layer gradually for a strong colour result - paying special attention to when applying over a creamy eyeshadow base. This is really reliable and easy to use, making it a fundamental part of my routine.

2. Soap & Glory 'Supercat' (£6.00)
An ultimate bargain, this slightly chunkier pen helps create effortless flicks in seconds. The precision tip helps to line the eye, while the thicker edge helps to create a more dramatic finish. Providing a super intense black finish, this pen is so easy to work with and great for pros and novices alike; at only £6.00 it's one pen every woman needs within her collection and one I've recommended to friends and family alike. It's smudge-free, provides a jet-black colour result and doesn't budge throughout the day either... Basically, buy it!

3. Clarins '3-Dot Liner' (£18.75)
Created to help build-up a result with ease, the three-pronged liner tip effectively fills the space between each eyelash to give the illusion of a fuller lash line. Straight lines are easier to achieve thanks to the parallel position of the dots, making for fewer mistakes and a precise result. Cat flicks can be achieved by angling the brush and moving the tips in an upward motion, although the pen is better for delicate rather than high-impact creations. This is a great intro into felt-tip liners and helps you to learn the tactics before jumping in feet first.
