I love brands that offer something a little different, have a great story and include amazing ingredients - Melvita embodies all those three things and more. Their skincare products are well-known for being effective and full of goodness, becoming almost cult-like following their under-the-radar status for nearly thirty years, so it's no surprise they've continued to capitalise on their expertise by launching their first Universal Cream. The super cute pot contains a lightweight and delicately scented cream that includes the scent of meadowsweet, elderflower and beeswax. Naturally rich in sugars, meadowsweet helps to strengthen the skin's barrier function, while beeswax helps to lock in moisture and provide a protective coating against environmental damage. Elderberry also helps to soften and soothe the skin, instantly providing a feeling of comfort, making the cream suitable for all the family.
The cream can be used all over the body to ensure skin is well looked after, as well as being used as a facial treatment or overnight mask. It really works well when massaged into the skin, leaving hardly any noticeable residue and no greasy feeling at all. Although at £15.00 it's not the cheapest body lotion available, if you're concerned about what you put on your skin (or the skin of a loved one,) then this provides enough to keep you going for some time. Illustrated with 'Belle and the Bee' characters for the first time, this is sure to be a collectors item in years to come - as is the accompanying book that tells the story of 'The Bee Who Spoke.'
The book tells the story of Melvita's signature brand character, Belle, as she travels from Paris to visit her grandparents in the country. It's a cute story and a beautifully illustrated book, making a great gift to be read before bedtime. At £7.95, the book is surprisingly much more affordable than the lotion itself; together they make a great little keepsake and mini indulgence for a kid (big or little) in your life. I love the fact Melvita are shaking things up a bit, so I can't wait to see where else Belle and the Bee pop up in the coming months. Maybe they're even the next Dora?
What do you think of this new direction for Melvita and the introduction of Belle?
The 'Universal Cream' is available for £15.00, while the book is priced £7.95. Both available online and via Melvita outlets. Image may be NSFW.
