As a nation, we're a little bit addicted to lipbalms. There's something about applying a sweet scented soothing balm to lips, almost becoming a comforting and ritualistic action rather than a functional one. I have over fifty different lipbalms in my collection (featuring every brand, bright colour and flavour imaginable,) but these new little gems from Barry M are a welcome addition. Cor Balmy lipbalms are available in five different shades - ranging from a practically invisible pale pink to a strong hit of berry - and feature a rich moisturising core to ensure lips are hydrated. The core is enriched with Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter to protect and revitalise dry skin, while the tinted balm provides a delicate hit of colour that complements the natural shade of lips.
It's no suprise that these look a little bit 'inspired' by the Maybelline Baby Lips balms that have developed cult-like status in only a few months. The pack is very similar, the type face ensures the products are fun, while the tinted shades ensure these bring the benefit of a balm and lipstick in one. I personally find the Baby Lips a little drying after a while, the colours hindering the performance of the balm overall; however, Barry M have ensured their new balms are incredibly comfortable to wear and can be re-applied as many times as you like without drying the lips.
All five of the shades are incredibly wearable, adding a delicate touch of colour to the lips to only enhance the natural shade - rather than creating a strong or bold look. The balm provides a touch of shine to the pout too, helping to leave lips looking juicy and kissable. These have a sweet inviting scent (rather than the artificial fragrance that often comes with budget buys,) meaning they're a little bit addictive. At £3.50 each these really are quite fab and definitely worth picking up as a cheeky pre-payday treat.
The 'Cor Balmy' lipbalms are available now in Boots priced £3.50 each. Image may be NSFW.
