Following on from the success of their award-winning Renunail Nail Strengthener (which really does work!) nail specialists Dr LeWinn’s are launching their very own range of nail polish colours. Combining the benefits of their original strengthening formula with an added hit of colour, the new additions contain three key strengthening ingredients to help protect nails and promote growth. Keratin, Bamboo and Calcium ensure the formulas are more than just colour, whilst the formula is free from nasty ingredients such as Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phthalate. Available in five shades (including pink, red, grey, beige and purple,) the polishes apply well to leave a suprisingly thin finish and strong colour result.
Although the current range is quite small, the colours are all very wearable and are generic enough to keep on all week long without worrying about outfit clashes. (Or is that just me that worries about matching my nails to my dress?) I have to admit that the polishes don't feel like they're adding any strengthening benefit to my nails, but I guess you'd have to wear these pretty continuously to see any long-term benefit. The finish is quite thin, which is preferable to me over a thick and gloopy formula that leaves nails prone to chipping, but completely streak free.
In addition to these five new nail colours, there's also a new 3D Top Coat which claims to extend the life of your manicure by preventing chipping. It definitely provides a glossy finish and a gel-like manicure look upon application, thanks to its rather thick texture that coats each nail with ease. The first day of wear looks fabulous and really ensures a professional finish; however, after day two I still found the polish underneath chipped and left my nails looking in need of a pamper.
If you're in need of some nail attention but don't want to go colour free, these polishes are a great option and can be worn all week long to match any look. Although the top coat ensures nails look even more fabulous initially, it does need to be re-applied to prevent chipping or colour fade. Overall, these are fab if you need a helping hand but they won't provide the serious nail colour you may otherwise be seeking.
Renunail Nail Colours RRP £14.00 and 3D Top Coat RRP £11.00 - launching online this June. Image may be NSFW.
