A Revolution in Makeup? Introducing NudeStix (Exclusive To SpaceNK)

In a world obsessed with complicated makeup, a plethora of colour and creating newness every five minutes, the beauty industry can be a little intimidating for some. Gone are the days when we celebrated having minimal makeup and only a handful of products in our portfolio. Although I love the expansive nature of makeup brands, after talking to a couple of American teens last week it seems there's a definite revolt against the norm. NudeStix is the brainchild of sisters Ally and Taylor (as well as their MAC-trained mother Jenny,) who love all-out natural makeup, opting for that barely-there look with only a touch of color to accentuate their finest features. After explaining that current makeup brands and collections simply didn't appeal to their no-nonsense attitude, they created a streamlined makeup collection - designed to provide a quick and easy nude look that works for all faces and can be 'applied in all places.'

Ally & Taylor say: "We believe a natural look is a perfect fit for any face. We’re all born with our own unique look, so why cover it up with tons of makeup? When it comes to beauty, a little color goes a long way. A touch of color here and there is enough to bring out our finest features, so out with the crazy big collection and in with four simple solutions for face, eyes, lips and even nails. We think doing our makeup should be easy, enjoyable and–above all–fun... So we created NudeStix. A simple collection of easy-to-use makeup crayons that cover all the bases and give you a fresh-faced, nude look. Enriched with skin-saving vitamins, antioxidants and moisturizers, each multipurpose pencil is loaded with just enough color to get the job done and leave you glowing."

The entire NudeStix collection consists of eight concealer shades, eight eye pencils, eight lip/cheek colours and four delightful metallic eyeshadows. The beauty is in the simplicity of the range, whilst still providing enough colours to ensure there's a match for everyone. With smooth formulas, subtle colours and stunning finishes, this is definitely a great staple range of products that will appeal to women of all ages - it's not just for teens and certainly not just for those fans of a nude minimal look. Every product can be used in multiple ways, ensuring value for money and a minimum space requirement... These are great for popping in your handbag.

Every NudeStix comes packaged in a handy little tin, which even includes a mirror in the lid, working as a sleek and modern 'makeup bag' that keeps the products protected. There's also a sharpener in the pack, ensuring the pencils remain at their most effective and perfectly sharp - there's no need to rummage around for an ill-fitting sharpener that cuts off the nib at an imprecise point. Although these are priced £24.00 each and way out of the usual teen's price range, it's great to see a range of products not focused on trends or encouraging you to add something new to your collection every four weeks; NudeStix takes us back to basics and places the focus well and truly on the essentials.

I'm loving this brand and everything it stands for. I'm also loving the actual products and the smooth, flawless, nude finishes they provide. I have a hunch that this is the beginning of a makeup revolution, with the focus being placed on truly effective and multifunctional products that are real investment pieces. NudeStix's motto is 'go nude, but better' - which perfectly encapsulates what women of all ages have been seeking since the dawn of time. Maybe now, in 2014, we've finally found the answer.
