It's easy to get the best out of your cosmetics when you start using makeup brushes. Your fingers and foam applicators can only do so much, often leaving a heavy finish on skin that's not exactly precise. Investing in a great collection of makeup tools will not only save time, be more hygienic and help create a more flawless finish, but it makes the whole experience a little more luxurious. Barry M aren't known for professional makeup, but they're great at bringing budget buys to the masses and allowing us to dip our toe in the water of something new. Launching into Superdrug stores imminently, Barry M's latest addition is a range of seven makeup brushes that provide a touch of fun with a sprinkle of makeup artist expertise.

All seven make-up brushes are synthetic and animal friendly, guaranteeing you a high performance, super-soft product to create a flawless look. Not only do they have a range of eyeshadow brushes (including a handy angled brush which works perfectly for gel eyeliner or creating a strong eyeshadow line,) but a combination of powder and foundation brushes. The shape and formation of all of the brushes are quite generic, meaning they can all be used for multiple functions - in fact, the eyeshadow and concealer brush are practically identical, allowing you to save a few pennies.
The bristles are soft and pleasant to use on the skin, although because they're synthetic they can take a little practice to ensure you pick up enough product to get the result you want. Although they certainly aren't great for buffing product into the skin or creating a perfect finish, they are great for adding a little powder over foundation or delicately applying a touch of blush. However, the foundation brush is comparable to more expensive applicators I've tried, allowing you to manoeuvre the product around the face easily without absorbing too much into the hair.
Although the bristles are arranged in a less than perfect manner and the handle is extremely light, the quality isn't bad at all considering these start at only £2.99. If I had to recommend three to pick up this weekend, then they would definitely be the Foundation Brush, Angled Eyeshadow Brush and Concealer brush - good quality, pleasant to use, multi-functional and will definitely encourage you to use applicators more regularly!
