Tory Burch may be well known for her shoes, but her attention is definitely turning towards beauty with the launch of her debut makeup collection. Her fragrance was launched earlier this year, but with the addition of this beautiful blusher compact and lip colour she's expanding her repertoire further. Packaged in distinctive orange and gold, the makeup is something of beauty; although the gold touches look like metal, they're in fact plastic to keep the feel of the products light and handbag appropriate. They look divine and are definitely statement pieces that you'll be proud to get out on the tube, or hand your mum this forthcoming Mother's Day.

Unlike many brands that choose to launch with striking colours and on-trend hues, Tory has chosen to launch universal tones that suit practically all complexions. The face compact includes a delicate pink shade, as well as a light bronzer and a highlighting colour; these can be applied individually or by sweeping one brush over all three to ensure the result is super natural and not at all flat. This is great for daily wear, or for adding a touch of colour to delicate complexions; it would even look fab over a slightly tanned tone to bring out the inner healthy glow. Although this is a little too pale for me on its own, it does work well with a touch of cream blush on the apples of my cheeks to lift my pale skin.
The lipstick is super smooth and provides just a hint of colour. If you're scared of lipstick, then this is definitely an introductory colour and formula to help you dip your toe into new waters. The pigment is quite subtle, providing just a hint of a tint when applied to the lips - the objective here is to simply enhance the colour of your lips, rather than complete a whole new look. The texture is super smooth and glides on to leave a subtle shine, creating the illusion of plumper lips. At £22.00 for the lip colour and £35.00 for the compact, these aren't cheap or impulse buys. However, they're reasonably priced for a premium brand that's offering such detail and brilliant packaging. Tory Burch isn't the place you're going to be heading to for colour and creativity, but as fantastic universal products that are held in some pretty incredible packaging, it's hard to say no.
