Can you believe that one of the staples in every girls purse is celebrating its 15th birthday in 2013? The Boots Advantage Card is probably one of the most used bits of plastic in the country, providing points and prizes to the masses since 1998. Believe it or not, 17.8 million people in the UK are actively collecting 4 points in every £1, while over 200 million pieces of targeted communications are sent out to wish happy birthdays and provide extra offers every year. December is the most popular month to redeem points, which I can only assume is people saving up and splurging on Christmas presents for loved ones, closely followed by January when it's all about penny pinching post the festive season. Over 5000 customers currently have enough points on their card to treat themselves to something special every week for a year, which is a whole lot of unspent points you should be using! I love the fact that Boots also know people redeem the points mostly against eyeliners and mascara, illustrating the fact that we all love a strong eye and pampering ourselves with the latest products. I have a lorra love for the Advantage Card, the points getting me through many lunchtimes at Uni when I was living off beans for a week, so I'm wishing it a very Happy Birthday and many more years of bringing happiness and beauty to all.
