The beauty of nude tones is that they complement and flatter every skin tone, as well as being able to offer a hue that enhances our natural colouring. As one of the UK’s leading foundation brands, Clinique is an expert in developing a beautiful shade range that complements all skin tones. Leveraging this expertise beyond foundation, Clinique is taking neutrals one step further with the introduction of their new '16 Shades of Beige' collection. Consisting of an eyeshadow palette and eight new shades of nail polish, the new products provide a selection of colours that enable every woman to create a sexy and sophisticated look.

I'm definitely a fan of Clinique's nail polishes, the formula having been created for sensitive skins and those prone to allergic reactions. (The majority of eye and face allergies are the result of irritants in nail varnish that come into contact with skin when we touch or itch our faces.) The formulas are easy to apply and the finish is smooth and glossy; although some of the paler shades need 2-3 coats for a flawless result, the polish is great quality. Because of the nature of the polishes and the removal of ingredients that can irritate the skin (which also help to keep the polish looking great over time,) they do have a tendency to chip and only last around two days. However, these polishes are fab for chucking on when you're in a rush but still want your manicure to look like you've spent all evening on it. I love the names of the nude nails too: Room Service, Peek a Boo I See You, Birthday Suit, Pajama Party, Tickle Me, Do Not Disturb, Chocolate on my Pillow, and Nighty-Night.

Clinique's limited edition 'All About Shadow Neutral Territory 2' palette contains eight wearable and universal shades of nudes and browns. When worn alone, the neutral shadows provide a great daytime or understated look, but when layered and blended the tones transform into a sophisticated statement. The shadows provide a creamy and blendable result, allowing the colours to be built up and worked into the eye socket with a blending brush. You can even apply the darker colours delicately to the lash line with an angled brush, or lick the tip of a liner brush to ensure a more intense result. I love the fact that this palette contains three 'base shades' as well as the darker hues; normally palettes only have one or two neutral hues that end up being used way before their counterparts. This palette has been well designed and is the perfect companion when you want to go from desk to dancefloor in under ten minutes.

The '16 Shades of Beige' Collection is available at Clinique counters and online. Nail varnishes RRP £12.50 each and the All About Shadow palette is £32.00.
