Candles have always been a massive part of my nesting process. Whenever I move into a new home or redecorate, placing candles on every surface is high on my 'to do' list - it just makes me feel at home. Maybe it's the warm, cosy candlelight or the delicate scent the flame helps to release, but candles just make me smile. Although you can grab any old candle from a supermarket for a few pounds, making an investment in a high quality and expertly crafted candle can make the world of difference... Which is why I'm introducing 'A Life With A View.'
With a background of over 25 years experience in fine fragrance, A Life with a View have created four beautiful home fragrances after many years working to decorate apartments for clients who wished to create harmonious and stylish rooms. "We have a passion for design and detail which led us to think about how we could translate our love of fragrance to transform both the home and the lives of the people who live there. What better way than to introduce wonderfully perfumed candles, whilst shedding a gentle glow across a room emanating complex fragrances to enchant and inspire. We have explored the long and fascinating history of fragrance to bring you scents which although grounded in history are utterly contemporary."
A Life With A View developed four fragrances, which are available in both candles and room diffusers: the Provencian Gite, the English Cottage, the Italian Villa and the New York Loft. If you know anything about me, then New York comes high up on my list of loves (along with candles) so this was the perfect choice for me. I love the simplicity of the candle, ensuring it coordinates with any decor, as well as the little corresponding information card that provides a breakdown of the scent. They say your sense of smell is the strongest of the five senses, so it's not hard to understand how the musky and smokey vanilla notes took me straight back to New York City. The addition of sandalwood and rose makes this an uplifting yet comforting scent that will certainly reawaken my living room this coming January. Although these are £40.00 a pop, they do offer up to 40 hours burn time and a sensual experience that's incomparable with a candle you can pick up from Tesco. In my opinion, a great investment and a great way to kick off 2014.
The candles are available online priced £40.00. Also available in a room diffuser format (£49.00) and a travel candle set (3 for £50.00) Image may be NSFW.
