Although we wrap up warm and invest in lots of socks when the cold chill hits, it's as important to change our skincare routine as it is our wardrobe every winter. Kiko Makeup have made a little bit of a splash since launching their cosmetics in the UK, but up until now there's been nothing for me that had the 'wow' factor. However, with the launch of these winter skin solutions I definitely sat up and took notice. The winter skincare line includes Winter Sunscreen, Hands & Lips Winter Balm, Hydrating Mousse and more - all formulated to target the specific issues we face during colder temperatures, with cute snowflake packaging to boot.

I love a 2-in-1 product and these provide multi-functionality in abundance. The Hands & Lips Winter Balm contains a soothing hand cream in the tube, which helps to repair and protect against further damage, with a handy lip balm and mirror in the lid. Both formulas are non-greasy and help to restore hydration and strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier, as well as being free from parabens and formulated to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions. This is the best thing I've found in a long time and it's gone straight in my handbag to be used multiple times a day - at £8.90 it's even reasonable enough to re-purchase and ensure my hands and lips remain smooth throughout the winter.
I've written before that SPF isn't just for the summer months, but it's hard sometimes to remember to apply it when we're so focused on caring for hydration levels and chapped skin. This super handy double-function Winter Sunscreen provides SPF 30 in a tube, as well as a lip contour cream at the end - making it a perfect product if you're planning a ski holiday over the Christmas break. "Designed to meet the specific needs of skin during the cold season, Winter Sunscreen has a rich formula of active ingredients that guarantee full protection... protect against UVA/UVB rays and disperse the heat of the IR infrared-rays on the skin, carrying out a targeted antioxidant action. Both products prevent the signs of premature aging that are caused by overexposure: sun spots, roughness and loss of elasticity." The formula isn't sticky or thick on the surface of the skin, ensuring you can still wear a full face of makeup to cover the festive hangover!
Finally, the innovative Hydrating Mousse is perfect for giving the skin a boost when you don't want to overpower it with thick or gloopy creams. The formula contains soothing and softening properties that moisturise dry skin while increasing its ability to stay extremely well nourished. A combination of active ingredients helps to revitalise, moisturise and protect skin, leaving it feeling refreshed. A small amount goes a long way and is specifically formulated to target the harsh conditions we face during the winter. I love this mousse, not only because it's a whole new experience when applying to skin, but because it provides a fast drying solution without compromising on hydration. If you've yet to discover Kiko then it's well worth having a look at what they have to offer this December!
