My desk is the one part of my house that is constantly disorganised, overflowing and surrounded by things I haven't quite managed to file away in their designated place. I not only have books, papers, products and pens all over the place, but I like to keep essential beauty treatments and lipbalms close at hand. There's nothing I hate more than not being able to find a balm or hand cream when I need it most, which is where Royal Albert come in. They've been creating intricate and beautiful teacups for over 100 years; whilst the Royal Albert brand was created in 1904, its roots are to be found in the Albert Works, built in 1896. The Albert Works commemorated the birth of Prince Albert in 1895, who later became the Duke of York and King George VI, the father of the Queen. The Albert Works was owned by Thomas Wild and his sons, who specialised in affordable tea, breakfast and dessert wares with floral designs. Their story is alive and well today, as Royal Albert continue to produce delicate tea wear - including this pretty mint teacup and saucer that I've been using as a stylish desk tidy.

Although pen pots and boxes can be practical, they don't do much for the aesthetic of your work space. I'm a firm believer that your working environment can have a massive impact on your productivity and comfort, so having a cute adornment such as this next to my computer makes me smile while keeping essentials close at hand. It's great for popping lipbalms or nail varnishes in, as well as working perfectly to keep those paperclips and elastic bands tidied away. I love the gold detailing, as well as the hand painted flowers inside the teacup which give it a vintage feeling. The fine bone china ensures that the cup is weighty and holds nicknacks with ease, plus it ensures it also makes a mighty fine cup of tea! Royal Albert have an extensive range of teacups and other chinawear that would not only make a unique desk tidy, but also a great gift for the tea lovers in your life. Although you may think these would cost the earth, the teacup and saucer set will only set you back around £22.00 - a small price to pay for something so beautiful and classic.

The Royal Albert teacups and saucers are available online for around £22.00.
