We may be five months off putting up a Christmas tree, but the beauty and fashion world go crazy for the festive season every July in an attempt to get into those big glossy magazines with ridiculously early deadlines. Although I have no interest whatsoever in bringing you news of products you can't get your hands on for months, I always find looking forward to general trends utterly fascinating. What will we be wearing during the festive season this year, and more importantly... What will we be finding in our stocking?

It's no real suprise that New Look will be bringing us everything covered in sparkles. Festive jumpers and reindeer antlers seem to make it acceptable to 'double bling' on everything; no sparkle is ever enough when it comes to the party season. This December it will be about glitz, glamour, sparkle and fur, but in a classier and more covered up format - minis are out and midis are definitely in. New Look always make the perfect party frocks, accessories and shoes because they're affordable: you don't mind buying a pair of blindingly gold shoes for the Christmas party that you'll never wear again, when they only set you back £24.99. They also have a fab range of gifts and gadgets on offer that I can't wait to see in store; what girl doesn't need a pair of penguin socks, cat ipad case or festive covered hip flask?
