For us Brits, the sunshine doesn't only mean BBQs and lazing in the park, it also means humidity. We're one of those lucky countries that gets a good dose of it, and often this can feel like living in a sauna. Some people cope better than others, but a sure sign of high humidity is frizzy and dry hair. We can't win; one minute we're combating the harsh cold in winter, the next there's no respite from the glaring sun and this can mean dry scalps, ends and lots of tresses in need of an instant pick-me-up. Well worry no more! As an advocate of long, thick and decidedly frizzy hair, I feel your pain and have come up with a few products that might just save your summer.

If you're in this for the long haul, an intensive conditioner should be high on your list. John Frieda do a Full Repair range that helps to reverse damaged hair. The less damaged your hair, the less frizz, so popping a little of this on after your usual shampoo will leave it 90% smoother and bring out that natural shine. After you've rinsed this out, a good preventative serum such as John Frieda's Frizz-Ease is one more measure you can use to help tame your barnet! One pump of this onto wet hair, smoothed through with a comb and left to get to work, visibly reduces the amount of unruly hairs that need to be seen to after blow-drying.
Drying your hair is immensely damaging, so it's extra important to protect it with a heat defence spray. V05 make a product called Pump It Up, an amplifying blow dry lotion that can be spritzed on all over adding extra volume while calming those pesky flyaways! If you don't already use a heat defence spray, this is something that needs to be invested in. Brittle, split and dehydrated hair is prone to frizziness, so prevention is key. Depending on your preference, a styling hairspray can really set your hair in place for most of the day even just a quick burst of this on a hairbrush and worked through to the ends of the hair is better than nothing at all. I've been opting for Tresemme's Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray as it contains 24 hour climate control and humidity resistance which really works! Fast drying and no flaking, I've yet to find a hairspray that can beat it when it comes to calming frizzy hair. If you're still panicking about rogue hairs, pop a little tube of John Frieda's Full Repair Flyaway Tamer into your handbag. Like a mascara but for hair, comb it through any unruly sections and the hair is put in it's place in no time at all.
Frizzy hair shouldn't have to ruin your summer, so what are you waiting for?
