NEW: Neal's Yard Lipstick

There's definitely a place in every girls heart for a delicate lipstick. Sometimes a little too scary for those not used to powerful shades of red, lipstick can often be overlooked in favour of their subtler glossy friends. Neal's Yard may be traditionally known for skincare, but they're using their expertise in a new way by launching a range of sheer lipsticks. Not so much a lipstick as a lip balm with colour, the bullet contains 10% natural mineral colour blended with 83% organic ingredients to moisturise, nourish and protect lips. The lipsticks contain no parabens, silicones or carmine (a common ingredient used in other lipsticks that's made from crushed beetles,) and therefore not only great stuff but also 100% vegetarian. Available in six different shades, the lipstick is packaged in a super light and delicate silver tube with the iconic Neal's Yard tree stamped on the end. The shades look a lot more pigmented in the tube than they do once applied to lips, providing a very sheer colour that's almost like a linted balm or delicate stain. All the shades are very wearable and similar in hue, the main focus being on browns and rusty pinks, and just give lips a flush of colour. Although when applied to lips the formula is comforting, it's a little tough to get good coverage on the lip when first applying - the natural ingredients make the bullet less smooth, meaning it takes a little more effort to get the lipstick to stay where you want. Some of the ingredients include antioxidant white tea, skin-nourishing organic argan oil, pomegranate oil, shea butter and conditioning organic beeswax; there's definitely a lot of goodness in these little silver tubes! I do quite like these and think they're great if you're concerned about what ingredients you're putting on your skin (especially as we apparently eat something like 9 tubes of lipgloss in a year by licking it off our lips,) but I'd love to see more colours in the range. Hopefully we'll get to see some pinks, deeper purples and reds being added to the range soon as brown isn't really my cup of tea. Nevertheless, this is a fab addition for Neal's Yard and a movement that I hope signifies more focus on their cosmetic range. Would you invest in a 'natural' lipstick?
