Hair Saviours: Moroccanoil Light Oil

I've spent the last three months with a full head of luxurious hair extensions that may have looked great, but with the list of products I couldn't use it was like giving a sweet shop owner the diagnosis of diabetes. I love hair products; I've been obsessed with various potions since I was in my teens: we weren't allowed to wear makeup to school, so the one thing we could do was make sure we had fabulous hair. My first graduate job was working in the marketing department of a luxurious salon professional hair brand, so I was literally in hair heaven. Not being able to use my usual serums, sprays, deep treatments and shine products for three months was pretty testing, but with Moroccanoil Light Oil I had the best of both worlds: a fabulous hair treatment that tamed my tresses, but without the heavy silicone that could threaten my bonds.

Moroccanoil's treatment oil is multi-purpose -  the versatile, nourishing and residue-free formula can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. It works well with other products, helps to speed up drying time and leaves hair silky smooth with a subtle shine. The science bit is that it fills gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage, to leave hair looking and feeling stronger after use; the practical bit is that it's so easy to use that it makes styling a doddle. For my thin and coarse hair before the extensions, the traditional version was fantastic, albeit a little heavy not to be used sparingly... However, the light version is as perfect for my hair after extensions as it was while I had them in. To get the best results from the formula just apply a couple of drops to the palm of your hand, warming the oil up between both of your hands and running through damp hair from mid-way to the end. It can also be used on dry hair to tame flyaways or define curls, perfect for when I was creating tousled waves with the extensions. Although I started using this for every styling need while I had a full head of 129 bonds, it's still going strong after they've all been removed - a testament to how it's become a fundamental part of my hair routine. Not only will this make your hair routine easier, it's perfect for taking on holiday because it's like having five products in one fabulous bottle. That means more room for shoes...
