OOTD: Spring Has Sprung (A Blush Toned Outfit & A New Watch From Daniel Wellington)

My oh my the sunshine has finally come out to play. For the first time this year I embraced the warmer weather and left my opaques at home, revealing a flash of bare leg and letting the spring breeze catch my appropriately hued skirt. I've been preemptively buying lighter coloured garments in anticipation of such a momentous occasion for some time, which means most are sitting within my wardrobe with labels still attached waiting to be loved. (I do the same every year and never learn.) When we had a few days of warmer weather it was the perfect excuse to finally pop on a springtime outfit and journey for tea and cake at the blogger haven location that is Peggy Porschen. Possibly the most Instagram-friendly location in London, this cute little cafe offers up delicious cakes that are almost too good to eat; whether you choose to sit inside amidst the sweet treats, or enjoy the view of the streets of Belgravia while you sip on a brew, it's a destination that's well worth a visit. While I was there it was the perfect opportunity to take in the sunshine and snap a few pictures of possibly my favourite look of the year to date.

THE OUTFIT
After a long season of dark jeans and jumpers, there's something quite liberating about de-layering and opting for a much lighter colour colour palette. Both my midi skirt and t-shirt are from ASOS, together offering something a little more relaxed than a full-on summer look. I'm a huge fan of the pleated midi skirt already (I think I've got about eight!) but it's set to be an even bigger trend this year; the light and airy fabric of this nude button-down version can be dressed up or down, so I know it's sure to be a wardrobe staple over the next six months or so. The little chic tee is only a tenner and is the perfect way to dress down an otherwise dressy bottom half, keeping the whole look relaxed. (I've also worn this with a tutu skirt and it looks incred!)

THE JACKET
Finishing it off the look is a lightweight biker jacket in a grey faux suede material, that provides just enough warmth without making me get a sweat on. I love my leather biker jacket, but it can be so hot when the sun is shining; I've been looking for a lighter version in a universal colour and this just hit the nail on the head. It fits really well, has fabulous details and is made to suit my curves; it's got enough room to go over a lightweight jumper, but will provide just what I need over a summer dress too - plus the colour goes with everything. River Island are great for little jackets that don't cost the earth and have so many I've got my eye on this season.

THE SHOES
Maybe it's my age, but I've always associated white shoes with being a little tacky outside of the height of summer. They're hard to maintain (I scuff shoes within minutes of buckling them up,) and unless you're careful with the tones of your outfit they can appear too brash; however, these little studded gems from Zara make white wearable and totally on-trend. I love the super pointy toe, the double buckle detail, tiny studs and even the metallic details inside the shoe. They're surprisingly comfy and easy to walk in, plus they're on offer for only £15.99 right now - bargain alert!

THE BAG
One of my biggest and most extravagant purchases to date, I treated myself to this classic cream YSL number at the end of last summer - but this is its debut blog appearance! Although the price tag is eye watering, I've used it so much already and simply adore everything about it; I bought it as both an investment piece (it's already increased in value by nearly £200 since I bought it) and a treat to myself after a really crazy summer of work, so it has positive associations that I recall every time it comes out of its box. The handles move so you can use it cross-body or on the shoulder, while the little pocket on the back is perfect for slipping in my phone and travel pass. I may have already scuffed it, but that doesn't stop it being the most luxurious and loved purchase I've made.

THE WATCH
Just in time for spring, Daniel Wellington have launched a brand new capsule collection of mesh wrist watches that are as elegant as they are timeless. This rose gold and white Classic Petite Melrose is simple and modern, adding a 'je ne sais quoi' to any outfit without taking the focus away from what you're wearing. I've got a couple of their watches already and really love their classic look, but the mesh strap is a great way to update your arm candy for the new season; sometimes a heavy leather strap can feel too much (as well as getting a touch sweaty) so this is definitely a watch I'll be turning too all summer long. What's even better is that it matches with my rose gold jewellery perfectly, including my 'Dreamer' bangle from Wanderlust & Co which I just can't get enough of. The new design is also available with a black face and silver mesh strap, so there's one to match every personality; if you fancy it yourself you can get an exclusive 15% off using code LBQBLOG15 via their website!
