I can barely separate my memories of makeup with my memories of Benefit. It's one of those brands that I've used for as long as I can remember, and one that I continue to rely on almost daily. One of my school friends introduced me to the wonders of their makeup portfolio almost twenty years ago and I was immediately hooked - although the price points weren't exactly teenager friendly, the bright and fun packaging definitely was. For me though, the reason Benefit stands the test of time is that they simply make awesome products that are worthy of their price tag and transcend generations; your little sister would be as happy using this as your best friend or your mum. Although they continue to launch new bits and pieces, pushing the boundaries and capitalising on trends, for me the wonder of the brand I have such affinity with is the portfolio of 'classics' that I know I can always rely on (and are never not within my makeup collection.) Here are my top five faves from Benefit that I don't think I could ever be without.

1. The PoreFessional Primer (£26.00)
Although it's now one of my all-time faves, I have to admit I didn't really rate this initially. Maybe it didn't agree with my skin type back then, or maybe it wasn't mixing with my skincare regime, but either way it was the gift that kept on giving when I finally got on-board with The PoreFessionional. The silky smooth texture glides over skin to help create a much smoother base, enabling my foundation to look fresher and stay put throughout the day, while helping to conceal those little imperfections and fine lines too. You need just a touch of this to cover your t-zone, so it lasts an absolute age. I've tried so many primers, but this is always the one that performs without any hassle. Whether you're a primer addict or not, this needs to be within every makeup bag!
2. Watt’s Up Cream Highlighter (£24.50)
I'm a little obsessed with highlighters; I love how they add a touch of radiance to the top of my cheekbones and wake up my complexion even when I'm feeling exhausted. This creamy and subtle formula is great for adding a really natural glow to skin every single day of the year - because it's not super shiny and contains no glitter. I've never been a fan of the little sponge buffer on the other end, prefering to dab on using my fingers, but the formula and colour result make the extra faff totally worth it. Plus it's so good for travel!
3. Dallas Bronzer (£24.50)
The slightly lesser known sister of the iconic Hoola, Dallas is actually my personal fave. A much lighter and more wearable bronzer that's more suited to paler skintones, this helps to add a flush of natural glow to the skin without you feeling like you've overdone it. Benefit's box bronzers are so iconic (I've got too many to mention!) but this is the one that's stood the test of time for me and is a helping hand even in the winter months. I personally have to play down Hoola and use only the smallest amount, but with this shade I can be as liberal as I want and build up the colour to really lift my complexion.
4. Roller Lash Mascara (£20.50)
I can remember it was love at first application with this - which is pretty good going for a mascara. Usually it takes two or three times for me to get to grips with a new formula and brush, but Roller Lash provided everything I wanted and more from the very first swipe. It helps to lengthen and lift lashes, providing a curling action while adding a touch of volume too; you do need quite a few layers to get the desired result, but it's so buildable you can't go wrong (or create any clumps.) Although twenty quid for a mascara is pretty steep, it is a product I keep going back to and can always rely on... I think I'm on about tube six!
5. Ka-Brow Brow Colour (£20.00)
The absolute ultimate in brow care for me right now, I'm thoroughly obsessed with this little power pot and reach for it practically every single morning. Although the little brush in the lid gets tatty quite quickly (wipe it with a baby wipe after every use to keep it as fresh as possible,) the formula is brilliant at creating a full brow - even on sparse areas where there's barely any hair to stick to. I love that it's easy to apply, buildable, stays put all day long and is portable too; plus it lasts SUCH a long time you can't sniff at the price tag - I've been using this for months and I'm barely a fifth of the way through. Available in six shades, there's a Ka-Brow to match every skin tone and hair colour too.
