It's Playtime With #CliniqueCrayola - A Limited Edition Stash Of Chubby Sticks You'll WANT!

I swear the older I get the more I regress into my childhood. Everything becomes a little nostalgic, a great memory and a way of capturing those happy carefree moments that seem so very long ago. Although I'm all about the elegant, minimalist and modern styles that look great on my dressing table, I'm increasingly turning to cutesy and novelty beauty items to inject a touch of fun into my otherwise very adult life. Clinique's Chubby Sticks have always provided a little way to leave you feeling happy, with every application providing a wash of colour wrapped up in a not-too-serious pack, but this January they're taking that one step further by teaming up with a brand that's been part of childhoods across the globe for decades: Crayola. Yep, lip crayons take on a whole new meaning in 2017!


This ten piece limited edition collection includes Chubby Sticks that have been colour matched and named to mimic some of Crayola’s most unique colours: including Mauvelous, Razzmatazz, Mango Tango and Tickle Me Pink. Although that's all very lovely, it's the iconic packaging that makes these little lip treats so covetable - including a very special 'crayon box' within which to store the entire collection. With just the swipe of a crayon anyone can be transported back to their childhood and relive the feeling of opening a new box of Crayola crayons, but now that has a little twist which means we can all carry that emotion wherever we go.

Thankfully the shades don't include blue, yellow or green, but instead provide a spectrum of incredibly wearable tones that make the perfect antidote to the super bold red lips and berry pouts we've seen so much over the festive season. They vary from the very sheer to the more noticeable finishes of Red Violet and Brick Red, but all glide over lips effortlessly and leave a very comfortable finish. You don't need me to preach the power of a lip crayon (they've been copied so many times before that we all know the format - even though Chubby Sticks will always be the original and the best!) but suffice to say I expect everyone to get a little bit excited about such a unique and fun collaboration. What a way to kick off 2017!


The Clinique Crayola collection is available exclusively now, via Selfridges, and will launch nationwide this February. Each of the ten shades is priced £17.50, but there's also a box of eight available for only £35.00 - bargain!
