A New Direction In Beauty: La-Eva Is The Brand Everyone Will Want In Their Bathroom This Year

It's not easy to launch a new brand. Not only do you have to have a cracking idea, but a plethora of expertise behind you to help with formula development, packaging design, marketing and actually getting it sold. Although there's another new beauty brand opening its metaphorical doors to us every week, few of them actually have what it takes to make an impact; most may seem like a good idea at the time, but when push comes to shove there's a thousand other bottles that offer the same thing. All success stories start with a sprinkling of magic and a dash of passion, as that's fundamentally what makes the difference between just another launch and a story that customers want to be part of; this year there's going to be a hot new name on everybody's lips that will bring a touch of something different that will undoubtedly fulfill that need. La-Eva is only on the first chapter of its journey, but I guarantee you'll love everything it has to offer.

The brand's founder, Louisa Canham, has the most incredible story to tell and ended up an expert of all things soap and fragrance by accident; an escape from the stresses of her job working with vunerable young people, Louisa started a journey with soap that later evolved into something more substantial. La-Eva is the culmination of years of selling handmade goods via market stalls, but is the complete opposite of the rather hippy, smelly and somewhat unpleasant textures you may be imagining. It embodies natural, edgy elegance and presents an inspirational beauty concept that celebrates the senses and treats body and mind as one; it's set to deliver a new direction in beauty,
where art meets an organic philosophy and luxury is aligned with simplicity. Louisa explains: "La-Eva is about experiencing life, through our senses. About appreciating pure beauty with a sense of depth. La-Eva stems from a spirit of joie de vivre,
builds on artisan roots, aligns naturally with the organic movement and thoughtfully creates high end products."

La-Eva offers a four piece collection that contains a hand wash and body lotion in two dellectable fragrances: Roseum contains notes of geranium, petigrain and clove for a sensual, relaxing, uplifting experience; Blu includes chamomile, cedarwood and vetiver for a soothing, calming and grounding sensation. Packaged in perfectly on-trend and classic chic amber glass apothecary-style bottles (in a variety of sizes that range from a handbag sized 85ml to a mega 500ml bathroom version,) the result is something that's as much of a pleasure to use as it is to look at. The formulas are organic (not because it's on-trend, but because in Louisa's words 'why would they not be?') and beautiful to use, leaving behind a thoroughly addictive scent that's akin to an artisan perfume.

What's so unique and different about La-Eva is that it's been created by true artists in an environment that's incredibly inspiring; I visited the workshop where the brand was born and it's no surprise the result is something I'm hotly tipping to be in the bathrooms of the most exclusive establishments in the next few years. Even the label has been designed with the help of an artist that resides next door, La-Eva being the culmination of a real community and every bottle hand poured with love. I'm not one to get overly excited by hand wash or lotion (the lotion can be used everywhere FYI, not just on your hands!) but this has really captured a spirit which I'm completely on-board with. La-Eva is a brand that proves small-fry, artisan, community made and organic doesn't have to mean compromising on quality or experience. It's incredibly affordable (prices start from only £8.50) but absolutely looks the part; watch this space, for it's about to become a name to be reckoned with.

What do you think of this new brand? Can you see it sitting in your bathroom in 2017?

La-Eva will be available from February 2017, in Roseum and Blu varieties, priced from £12.50. Find out more on their website: la-eva.co.uk
