Taking You To The Dark (Or Light) Side: Star Wars Launch SIX New Unisex Scents Fit For Any Super-Fan

This time last year we were counting down the days until The Force Awakens hit cinemas; over the next couple of weeks I saw it four times, to the point where I could practically recite each line and wore a different character t-shirt on every visit. This year we've got our tickets to Rogue One booked and we're ready to re-visit a Galaxy Far Far Away once again; Star Wars season is undoubtedly upon us and is becoming somewhat of a festive tradition! Since the first film was launched back in December 1977, a whole universe has captured our imaginations and had an impact on every element of popular culture. It was a film franchise like no other, proving that a female lead character didn't have to be a damsel in distress (in fact, she could kick some butt and save the day herself,) and the shiny heroes were more flawed than any that came before them. REY: A powerful, fruity and floral fragrance that represents all that is strong and sophisticated, this scent is not your traditional feminine number. Although honeysuckle and jasmine keep it elegant, it's not sickly sweet or overpoweringly full of flowers; it's a subtle scent that I'm sure people will be intrigued by.

GALAXY: A zesty, energetic and woody fragrance that's warm and spicy, representing all that is fearless and heroic. The masculine undertones make it completely unisex (perfect for those women that like their scents rich, as well as guys that like their fragrance to subtly ooze old school appeal) and a scent that you'd expect to find at an atelier, not within a Star Wars bottle.

LIGHT: A strong, fresh infusion with enlightens the senses and refreshes the soul. It's reminiscent of those 90's unisex scents we all loved, but in a nostalgic way that leaves me wanting to spritz this all over. The perfect contrast to the Dark Side.

Also available within the franchise are DROID (an androgynous and energetic fragrance that combines citrus and floral with spice and musk,) and REVENGE (a dominant and spicy scent with a woody and capricious dark aroma,) but these are the four scents you'll be able to pick up via Boots.com (or even have them delivered to your local store.) My personal fave is undoubtedly GALAXY as it's unusual and earthy without being too overpowering, while the LIGHT & DARK gift set makes the perfect Christmas treat for any fan - no matter their age, gender or usual scent preference.

Most film franchises launch scents that are incredibly basic and the juice inside is often very one-dimensional; the cheesy character bottles are a sure fire way to capitalise on immediate success at the box office, but they're not the way to develop a more long-term way to support a franchise. What I really like about the Star Wars fragrances is that they've been developed with a slightly older and more sophisticated customer in mind than you may expect, mirrored by the elegant and simplistic bottle design. From the moment you open it, the bottle provides an experience - especially as it's held within a little storybook that you'll definitely want to keep. You wouldn't be embarrassed to pop this on your dressing table, and every Star Wars fan would be pleased to find one of these wrapped up under their tree come Christmas.
