Mineral makeup has become a fundamental part of millions of morning routines since its mass introduction in the last decade. We often forget what life was like before multi-tasking powdered products that not only make you look great, but have a positive effect on the skin underneath. Bare Minerals seemed to have a monopoly for quite some time, but we were then rapidly inundated with every form of mineral makeup the worlds labs could muster - regardless of whether the ingredients were anything more than talc. Trends are once again emerging and the focus is very much on products that have more than one function; makeup that has two uses, 3-in-1 formulas and foundation with added skincare. This is very much set to continue and the introduction of Pür Minerals to the UK only cements my opinion. I wasn't previously aware of the brand, but for over a decade, Pür Minerals has apparently been bringing women of all ages groundbreaking products that not only help them look their best, but actually improve their skins’ appearance. Combining the finest ingredients in nature with the latest in skincare technology, their multitasking formulas work with the skin to correct, prevent and interrupt common concerns for radiant results you can see. All the products are cruelty free and contain no harsh chemical dyes, petroleum-based oils, fragrance or fillers - just pure mineral pigments and nourishing ingredients that skin can enjoy. The Pür Minerals mantra is all about no-fuss makeup that provides a real result and benefit, so I was eager to try their 4-in-1 mineral makeup that claims to work as a foundation, concealer, powder and skincare product. Available in 10 shades, I've been using 'porcelain' which is perfect for my English Rose complexion; it's best applied using their flat 'Chisel' makeup brush, taking a small amount from the pan and transferring onto skin using small circular motions. If you've used Bare Minerals before then you'll be familiar with the technique (which does take a bit of getting used to,) which aids application into the skin rather than the product just sitting on the surface. I'm always very cynical about products that claim to deliver the earth, but this little pot was actually pretty good - I didn't need any concealer (not even to cover bags under my eyes as a result of a Saturday on the cocktails,) and my complexion felt and looked radiant. Pür Minerals provides an almost 'non-makeup' look, while keeping skin feeling comfortable and fresh. It lasts well pretty much all day, just needing a little touching up around the t-zone come evening, while giving me the depth of coverage I'm really after. If you're a fan of mineral makeup, not only is this a fuss-free alternative (hello pressed powder formula that doesn't leave me covered in mess,) but a great introduction to your portfolio. It definitely gets a thumbs up from me!
