I have a confession: I spent most of my teens using face wipes and whatever moisturiser my Mum had left out in the bathroom. As soon as I hit my late 20's I knew it was time to get a good skincare regime sorted and first on my list was the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. I've always enjoyed using rich face balms and oils, so when I saw this in Space NK during a recent trip to London I just had to pick it up!
The Emma Hardie Moringa Face Balm contains Moringa seed extract, Wild Sea Fennel and Vitamin E to help balance, purify and minimise your pores, Jasmine, Cedarwood and Rose to recondition dull, dry and dehydrated skin and Orange, Neroli and Mandarin extracts to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin. I have to admit when I first started using this I was applying it to wet skin and found it just wasn't doing the job properly. After reading a bit more about the product (namely from the skincare goddess that is Caroline Hirons!) I started to apply it directly onto dry skin, working it in all over my face and even around the eyes. To get the best results, you just remove the formula with a wet Emma Hardie muslin cloth (which I picked up at the same time, but in all honesty a normal face cloth would suffice!) The great thing about the balm is that it feels really light on the skin, yet it removes every single trace of makeup; it also has the most gorgeous scent, which makes it such a treat to use. After it's been removed, I found my skin looked plumper and had a really gorgeous glow, not dissimilar to how my skin looks after a facial.
Although I love it, there are a couple of issues I have with this balm, the biggest one being the packaging. I've seen lots of users mention that their pot has cracked or the product has leaked through: I have to agree, as mine was broken when I first opened it. I'm really surprised that for a premium product (with a premium price tag of £34 for a 100ml tub,) they haven't sorted out this packaging issue. It's also disappointing that the face cloths don't come free with the cleanser to ensure optimum results: I paid £12 for 3 cloths and if I am honest, there's little difference between these and the £1 ones from Primark! Apart from these small(ish) grumbles I have to say I will certainly be repurchasing the balm once my pot runs out, my skin has never looked so clear and radiant. Have you tried the Emma Hardie balm?
