Guess what? I've taken the decision to banish the opaques. It may be a little premature, but after months on end of fashioning jumpers and heavy boots I'm ready to embrace summer fashion - even if I have to feel a little chilly for a short time while doing it. There's something incredibly constrictive about tights and shoes that are physically tied on to your tootsies; I was born to be free and I was born to skip around wearing summer dresses and pretty sandals. In order to get myself summer ready (albeit a little ahead of schedule) I'm prepping my pins and ensuring they're fuzz free, while my feet need to come out of hiding and undergo a makeover before they can be displayed in all their glory. With the bazillions of beauty products I have at my disposal, it takes quite a lot to get fully integrated into my routine; however, these two leg and foot perfecting gadgets were both ripped from their packaging and displayed instantly on my bathroom shelf. Together they provide a lazy girls approach to summer, helping to primp and preen the two parts of your body that get hidden away more than most - and here's why I can't get enough.

Over the years I've embraced waxing, epilating, IPL and depilatory creams - but I always revert back to shaving. It's quick, easy, faff free and doesn't cost a fortune, but the downside is the often blunt razor blades and irritating rash that often appears. Shaving can cause any number of problems (including dryness, irritation, ingrowing hairs) but with this new little gadget they could be a thing of the past. Using the technology that's been used in men's electric razors for years, this elegant Satin Shave provides an incredibly close shave without the use of razors at all. You run it over the surface of skin effortlessly and the rounded trimmer cuts off any unwanted hair; because there are no actual blades there's no scratching, no blood (we've all been there) and no irritation. As someone who spent the best part of a decade filing her excess hard skin with an ugly pumice stone or surgical looking metal instrument (too much info?) when Scholl first launched their Velvet Smooth foot file my life was instantly enhanced. It's one of the products I've loved since the moment I discovered it, but with their latest innovation they take things one step further. This new 'wet and dry' version is rechargable (rather than having to faff with batteries) and offers a buffing head soft enough to use even on wet skin, meaning you can scrub away dead skin on a regular basis from the comfort of your bath or shower. Although I love the original, this is a lighter and fresher version that powers through dead skin even easier to leave a silky smooth finish. As we step into summer, our heels will be put through a bit of a rigmarole (flat sandals and dry weather equals sore feet) so this is a great way to look after them all season long. You by no means need one of these if you already have the original, but if you've yet to take pleasure in the benefits of a Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file... Get yourselves out to Boots and pick one up stat.
