Keeping Skincare Simple, But Still Boosting The Results: Introducing 'The Hero Project' #BeautyOnAMission

SPONSORED FEATURE
Skincare routines can be confusing, as well as expensive. Every day we're awash with information about a new launch, revolutionary new concept, additional concern or way of perfecting our complexions - but many of it isn't really necessary to everyone on a daily basis. It's easy to get swept up in the hype of a new product, or overload our faces with ten different layers in the search for everlasting youth, but realistically sometimes it's just a tweak or two that will do the job in the way you need. So what if there was almost an antidote to this confusion, frustration and sense of overwhelm? ‘The Hero Project’ is a new brand that aims to provide just that. Behind this new concept is a pioneering UK-based skincare team with over 100 years of collective beauty industry knowledge; their mission was to come to the rescue of millions of women continually left disappointed by their beauty products. The team have been scouring the world over the last three years (taking in information from e-commerce sites, review hubs and blogs,) for 5-star beauty reviews so they can genuinely understand what women want - and what they don’t. Starting off with a simple two piece offering (including Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost £19.00 and Glow Drops £21.00) the objective of the brand is to provide products that are easy to integrate into an existing routine and mix with other products - only make the overall result better. How refreshing.

Rather than bamboozling us with lots of science, oodles of steps or complicated application techniques, their only two products can be added into any routine without overloading skin or taking up any more time than usual. Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost (£19.00) contains multiple types and sizes of Hyaluronic Acid to help dehydrated skin by penetrating at different levels. This essential ingredient is found in the greatest concentrations in the skin tissue - young skin is smooth and elastic as it contains large amounts of Hyaluronic Acid that helps keep the skin stay healthy. It provides continuous moisture by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water, but with age the ability of the skin to produce this vital substance decreases. Hyaluronic Acid acts as a 'space filler' by binding to water, therefore keeping the skin wrinkle-free and plump; on its own it's not a moisturiser as such, but it's an essential tool in the body being able to look after itself effectively and keep us looking youthful.

However, the majority of brands use Hyaluronic Acid in a size that's actually too large of a molecule to penetrate the skin; instead just sits on the surface drawing moisture out, rather than encouraging it to form in the deeper layers. This means it's easy to just wash away the moisture when you use a cleanser, leaving skin feeling tight and lacking hydration. The key to true skin comfort is in the molecular weight of the Hyaluronic Acid used, as the molecules need to be broken down so they can penetrate deeper into the skin, attracting moisture where it's needed most for effective long-term results. The Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost provides three different sizes of this vitally important ingredient in gel form (one in the the low to mid range, one in the mid range and one in the high range, as they believe this is the best HA profile you can use for the optimum hydration boosting), meaning it's a great little treat for the skin post cleansing or pre your usual moisturiser. Thanks to the incredibly lightweight texture, it literally melts into skin on contact to leave it feeling refreshed and hydrated - as well as ready for the other steps in your routine. I've actually been using it on the incredibly dry area around my lips and it hydrates in seconds to leave them feeling comfortable, smooth and plump; when the fifty lip balms in my collection don't even touch the sides and this works wonders, you know you're onto a good thing.

However, if you want something a little more luxurious and evocative, then the
Glow Drops dry touch oil helps to provide your complexion with an instant youthful glow and radiant texture. The formula features ten gloriously scented natural essential oils (including rose and begamot,) blended with oil soluble Vitamin C and Argan, to help nourish skin without overloading the surface. You won't often find Vitamin C in a facial oil, but it's well known to help brighten dull areas of the complexion, while the Argan Oil helps to instantly balance, hydrate and giving skin a glowing texture. As an additional extra The Hero Project have also added Omegas 3 and 6 which can actually help boost radiance from within by supporting the skin's barrier function, helping create a complexion you'll love instantly and over time. The great news is that this dry-touch and lightweight oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't block pores and it's suitable for oily and blemish prone skin; in fact a touch of oil can actually be a positive thing for oily skin types, as it helps to balance skin and reduce the amount of sebum the skin is producing. Most oils aren't suitable to be used in the morning underneath other products, but this can be applied and massaged in within seconds to leave skin feeling nourished; it's also a treat before bed if you want to get the blood pumping and inject a touch of goodness to get to work while you sleep.

I'm a huge fun of multi-tasking products, and those that can be 'mixed and matched' within an existing routine; The Hero Project has absolutely nailed the simplistic 'back to basics' skincare trend that's set to be huge for the rest of 2016, while offering truly effective and pleasurable products. They're suitable for every man and women, no matter their age or need, because they're goodness in a bottle (or tube!) A lot of things come and go - but these will be taking pride of place on my dressing table for the foreseeable future, and definitely enter the hall of 'products I recommend' fame. Because The Hero Project are quite simply #BeautyOnAMission, we want to treat ten of you to the products... But you have to conduct your own mini beauty mission to nab them! I'm going to 'hide' the two products within an Instagram post this week (make sure you're following me here: @lndnbeautyqueen); the first ten of you to spot them and comment beneath using the hashtags #HYASOFT & #GLOWDROPS will win both! Simples.

Mission accepted? See you over there...
