Ten Calorie Free Chocolately Treats To Give A Loved One This Easter

If aliens were to land on earth this coming bank holiday weekend, we'd be hard pressed to explain how we've turned a religious holiday into a celebration of chocolate. Easter may have its roots in spiritual stories, but the Twenty-First-Century has evolved the festivities into almost a worshiping at the alter of Cadbury's - whether you like it or not. If you're loathe to spend a small fortune on a foil-wrapped egg, know someone that's looking after their waistline, or simply aren't that into chocolate, there are a plethora of treats inspired by the sweet stuff that are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face for far longer than a packet of mini eggs. From chocolate box inspired bronzers and eyeshadow palettes, to body perfecting chocolate tinted thrills, here are ten absolutely calorie free ways to celebrate this weekend.

1. Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (£7.99)
This was the first bronzer I ever used, and I'm pleased that nearly ten years later it's still the same product I knew and loved. Enriched with the subtle scent of cocoa, this chocolate treat is incredibly fine and helps to create a natural 'sunkissed' glow without overloading the skin. Available in four different shades, there's also a texture to suit everybody - illuminating, matte, sun drenched or sun glow. At under a tenner it's also a bargain.

2. Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks (£19.00)
Oh my these are a delight for the senses. Brown lips from the 90's are seeing a comeback right now, and what better way to drench your pout than with the scent of all things chocolatey. Too Faced have nailed the richness of the fragrance without making it sickly, while delivering a richly pigmented and comfortable colour that lasts a lot longer than a traditional gloss. With six shades to choose from, they may be expensive but it's the gift that keeps on giving.

3. Barry M Matte Nail Paintin 'Mocha' (£3.99)
Adorn your talons with one of the season's hottest colours, but ensure there's a matte twist thanks to Barry M's formula. Nude enough for those of us that want to elongate our nails, but trendy enough for those wishing they were around for the 90's the first time around. (I was, and it makes me sad that my childhood is making a fashion comeback already.)

4. L'Occitane Almande Velvet Hands (£18.00)
For a more grown up take on the 'chocolate inspired' trend, why not treat your mum to fabulous feeling and uber protected hands? This delightfully rich and subtly sweet hand cream not only nourishes dryness, but helps to stimulate collagen production while offering SPF15 - meaning hands will be revitalised and protected simultaneously.

5. Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder (£28.50)
I adore the bronzers and illuminators from Bobbi Brown; the brand just seem to nail the formulation every time, creating something that glides over skin to enhance rather than overload. These bronzing powders are available in five different shades to ensure the perfect match, and look beautiful when buffed into areas of the face that the sun would naturally catch. Like you needed another excuse to treat yourself to some Bobbi?

6. Burberry Full Kisses Lipstick (£25.00)
Designed as a lip pen rather than a traditional lipstick, these are perfectly angled to create a flawless lip look in seconds. Used not only on the catwalk and by celebrities, these have been hugely popular amongst fellow bloggers and journalists - especially as they're so handbag appropriate. The formula glides over lips to leave them feeling nourished, while this nude shade ensures your pout is super kissable. One of my favourite Burberry launches to date.

7. St Tropez Gradual Tan (£15.00)
You may notice a new look - and more importantly a new scent - from St Tropez hitting stores over the coming months, as they update their iconic packs with something a little more streamlined and modern. They've been working tirelessly to overcome the classic DHA scent that we all loathe, instead creating a fragrance that works with rather than against the naturally occuring perfume. The result is not only a luxurious and quickly absorbing cream that adds a chocolate tint to skin, but a scent you'll finally love.

8. Superdrug Chocolate Face Masks (99p each)
I do love a bargain, especially when it's chocolate scented. I picked these up in Superdrug when browsing the shelves for inspiration, and I think I may be a little bit obsessed. Although they're very sweet and offer only a temporary moment of escape, it's a cute way to treat either yourself or a loved one without yet more chocolate eggs. What's even better is that they're 3 for 2 on offer!

9. Vita Liberata Body Blur (£29.50)
One of my new favourite products ahead of the forthcoming summer season, this is basically a BB Cream for the body. The lightweight yet rich formula covers imperfections, smoothes skin appearance, provides a natural-looking tan that washes off at the end of the day but still hydrates for up to 72 hours. Shea Butter and Aloe Vera extracts condition skin, while light reflecting elements help provide a 'photo-ready' skin finish that I’m sure you’ll love. This is great if you’ve got a hot date but haven’t remembered to tan those pasty legs!

10. Makeup Revolution Chocolate Eyeshadow Palettes (£7.99)
You couldn't have a line-up of chocolate inspired treats without a mention of the almost iconic Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes. Now available in six different varieties, each delectable palette offers 16 wearable shades that have the most incredible texture; richly pigmented, super soft, blendable and long-lasting, this is a far more sensible investment than spending £7.99 on Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

Failing that, if you still need your chocolate fix, why not check out Godiva's offering - their little eggs are filled with grown-up fondents, while their chocolate boxes are almost fit for a princess. Have a look at their website for inspiration, recipes and information on some of the most beautiful creations you'll ever see.
